One ticket to Anywhere, please!

This story was an enjoyable read!

From the start, the author does an excellent job setting up a peculiar town which, as we discover through the eyes of our protagonists, is brimming with paranormal secrets and mystery. The family at the heart of this story--a husband, wife, and their teen-aged son and daughter--are bursting with personality and likeability. The dialogue is clever, the dynamics are relatable, and the characters feel relatively fresh. Usually, teen characters are often swarming with overused stereotypes. While Jules and Elliot do harbor some of these typical teen traits, their overall nature and connection to each other, their parents, and the strangeness surrounding them gives them a unique edge that makes them a joy to read about.

The story is nicely paced and the tension builds well, the atmosphere of Anywhere is excellent, and left me wanting to read even more! I do hope the author revisits this world! I'd highly recommend this story to fans of the paranormal, or those simply looking for a different kind of story revolving around teenagers.

The Unborn Joel

This story is sprinkled with interesting concepts and ideas. The author has a nice sense of humor and a few parts made me genuinely chuckle.

However, I believe this story could use a stronger narrative and writing style. The ideas and characters are there, but I don't feel I'm experiencing this journey along with the protagonists; it feels as though everything is told rather than shown. Important elements and emotional moments are quickly glossed over and there are grammatical errors and issues with point of view that really keep this story from reaching its full potential. The characters' motivations and backstories are well defined, but I don't believe I really know them. I wanted more time to be spent developing their other interests and personality traits.

That being said, I do feel that the dialogue is pretty decent in a lot of parts. If the author ever wanted to have this adapted into a comic, I'd definitely be interested in seeing that!

I really hope that my criticism does not come off as too harsh, and I am not a professional by any means. I think it's wonderful that you have taken up writing. Don't stop and please keep telling more stories!

A Unique Love Story

"Seth and Jacob" focuses on teenagers in a realistic setting. Our main characters' struggles feel very real and relatable. The issue of innocent people being victimized for just being themselves is cruel and unfair, and the author paints a vivid picture of just how judgemental some people can be. The portrayal of the characters and their problems is done nicely and the dialogue is well written. The story is a true page turner, I just wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next. I can't wait to finish reading this!

The Consequences of War

This story digs deep into the harsh realities of war. It's a short, yet gripping tale; the author invokes vivid imagery in her writing style, which helps the reader connect with the characters and their struggles. A somber tale that will leave you feeling satisfied, but sad too. Great work!
