Hi! I was wondering where you get your inspiration from?
Hi Kelley! Huge fan, love your books. Did you have an idea mapped out for your entire series (any of them) before you started writing the first book? Or did you write each book inclusive of itself and then plan out the next book, etc. Thank you so much for your time!
How do you get your books noticed? I've taken the advice of all the blogs, websites and apps like this. Everyone who has read my books has given me excellent reviews but I'm still struggling to get them in the hands of those who need them. What is your advice?
Hello Kelley! I'm a fan of your writing and I was wondering how do you get over your writer's block when you have it? Also, what would you recommend doing when you get bored with a book your writing (if you ever do) and need the motivation to keep going?
Thank you for having me on! I think I got all the questions answered :) Some really great ones here. Happy NaNo'ing to everyone!
What was your favourite book to write & how long did it take you to complete?
Hello, Miss Armstrong! How can I best weave mythology with modern times while staying true to the myths' essence? P.S.: I love your ''The Blackwell Pages'' series!
I am fairly new here but my question is 'How do you find the motivation to finish a book?'
I start a book but then it falls through halfway and I either get bored with the idea or find a new idea. I then find the half finished book later on, love the idea but hate how it was written so I would start again. My Wattpad account is filled with half finished books and only a couple are actually written/continued.
So, how do you find motivation? And any other writing advice for an inspiring author?
Hi, Kelley. As a writer, I find that I get so attached to my stories (and characters) that it's hard to put them out where other people can interact with them. I'm a huge fan of your Otherworld series, so I was wondering what it was like for you to watch Bitten come to life on television. There are definitely some ways in which the characters and story were envisioned differently than in the books. Was it hard for you to let go of the characters that way?
Hi Kelly. I've read the Darkest Powers Trilogy a million times. It is my utmost favourite trilogy by you. I would like to know if you ever work on more than one story/book at once? I am currently working on three stories at once and my friends all think I'm crazy. I would also like to know where you got the inspiration for Chloe, Rae, Tori, Simon and Derek's powers.
Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers’ dismay. Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolves, while safely locked away in her basement writing dungeon. She lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids and far too many pets.
Post your questions and Kelley will answer them November 16th at 7pm!
