Supernaturally captivating

There are so many werewolf stories out there that even the most drastic turn of the event turns predictable. Not so with this one though. Though we have a killer werewolf in our midst we find that man is the greatest killer. Man doesn't just kill by taking life. Man kills by making someone's life unliveable.
The main characters are extremely detailed with sufficient back story. It is not a girl meets wolf and mates for life story. It is quite the opposite. Though brief, the story is captivating in its conciseness. You actually feel for the main characters.
The writing style is fluid and expressive. The story structure is layered. It is told from a third-person point of view, thus removing the juvenile change of perspectives that tends to leave us in a tizzy. The author acts as a very impartial narrator.
Overall it is a story that can stand out amidst the genre.

Touching

This is a story of rediscovery. The author does a great job at detailing the struggle one faces on losing everything that a person believes defines them. The struggle to find a new identity after you have lost a well-seated one is harder thana struggle to establish yourself. It is a touching story with a beautiful ending.

Story of a journey

Some of the best stories talk of a journey that their characters undertake from who they were to who they can become. This is one such story with strong characters and great transformations. The writing is excellent and one can feel a part of that journey wishing to live them. The characters are captivating and one can only wish for another book to reunite the readers with them. Overall the book is an amazing experience.

A Thriller that shifts to Fantasy

The book starts of as a woman using a demon to get over her loss of friends who were killed. The demon instigates her into vengeance. That sounds ominous. The investigation begins. Again that's promising. But after that the entire story line shifts and you can't help feeling deprived.
It is a teeange- young adult story.
I would have rated it higher if I found the storyline a bit more cohesive.

One Night ending in a dawn

The broken girl, the man trying to mend it with a heart condition, it all reminded me of a Bollywood movie I once saw ("Kal Ho Na Ho"). The only difference is that that girl moved on with her childhood best friend that the man set her up with. So I am glad that Liam and Blair didn't decide to connect.

I honestly enjoyed the last couple of chapters more than most of the story. I enjoyed the strength in Blair in taking up the pieces of her life and also instilling emotions back not just in herself but in another broken soul. Does it make her much different from Holden? Not fundamentally. But she was there to stay.

I enjoyed the hopeful note at the end. Despite the title, the story isn't full of darkness but rather a light at the end of the tunnel. It is definitely worth the read.

Filthy Virgin: Not your typical romance/erotica

The first thing that hits you as you go through the story is the situation and the circumstances. A death leading to unfavourable circumstances and intervened by a miraculous coincidence. It is fairytale-ish but the telling of it keeps the realism intact. The author cleverly plays down the sexual scenes, keeping the vulgarity to a minimum despite the title. The fuel that drives the story is the sexual tension between the protagonists that seem to run with their old history. However, the sexual tension is not the only guiding factor of the story. There is also trust and ambition but the distinguishing factor, in the end, is love, a love that trumps situation and circumstances. It is not your typical love story but it is a love story nonetheless. It is not an erotica but it is definitely erotic.
