Fantasy Reader Turned Western Lover!
While I am not usually a western reader, I enjoyed this story in a lot of ways. The unique characters and the way the author weaves the scenery made me feel like I was there with them, as if I knew them by words alone. There is this otherworldly feeling to the characters, as if they are greater than their human bodies, like they are destined for something greater. I like that the MC, Bill, had his own past, his own demons but he was willing to go so far for the others that it shrouded him with this grace that I can't describe. I enjoyed the storytelling but some of the grammar mistakes made me have to reread a few lines here and there. It wasn't so bad that I wanted to drop the story and not continue. You feel a real connection to the characters, you root for the good guys and you want the rotten ones to get what they deserve - something very true to classic westerns.
This is a suspenseful and wonderfully written story. With each characters stories, there's a need to know more about them, and the author give you just that. This was a lovely story, and with some polishing, it could be even greater!
