Hunter Ambrose continues to impress with his debut in the fantasy genre. Moving from singularly writing erotica to this piece of epic fantasy literature is an example of how flexible this artist is with his craft. Inspiration is drawn from a number of lore and repurposed to serve the narrative in an entirely fresh way. Every corner of it is scripted with meaning and contributes to the lush environment Hunter has woven. It would likely take several reads to absorb everything to completion.

If you enjoy a solid epic fantasy dripping with detail and emotion, this would be a good dragon to jump onto. Evocative, engaging and erotic. I highly recommend stepping foot into a journey that threatens to absorb you into a completely new world.

The Lustful Romantic

Hunter Ambrose masterfully weaves all the most powerful, raw and painful elements of a complicated romance. The characters are real, unapologetic and the personalities deepen as the story progresses, just like getting to know someone who is much more complicated than you think. Revelations surprise the reader but simultaneously make sense, which is what riding, and writing, an emotional story is all about.

Romance in the real world is like a jungle full of creatures, colors, scents and sounds. No two relationships are the same as no person is like another. Hunter's unique character voices, and the switch from one POV to the other, are skillfully crafted, so much that it seems like different people are writing each chapter. That allows the reader to settle into comfortable immersion and makes the experience all the more striking.
