I write fractured fairy tales for women of a certain age because laughter is legal, moral and non-fattening. Are we having fun yet? Whose fault is that?

The Need for Speed

Harlow Morgan and the Hedge Race
By Lyndsey Lewellen

I have enjoyed this story. The voices of the characters work very well and are different for each point of view character. The world is drawn with a few deft strokes and leaves a good idea of what is going on without any infodump or excess of description. Conflicts between characters are well-conceived. I'm interested in reading the rest, although I have a pretty good idea of how it comes out. I'm interested to see if there are some twists I have not thought about.
