How It Works
Great first chapter
This was such a good way to start a story. The main character felt real, and the descriptions were in-depth without being over the top. I liked the way information was teased throughout the chapter, keeping the reader guessing without being confusing or frustrating.
Solid start with a very interesting premise, already likable main character, and a down-to-earth writing style that makes the fantasy environment feel grounded and believable (a hard thing to do when the main character dies 7 times in the first chapter).
This has done exactly what a first chapter should do; it's gotten me interested.
I'll definitely keep reading.
Update: I tore through four chapters of this in one sitting. A few minor technical errors aside, it is very well written so far. A great story with a wonderful main character and nice touches of humor.
