Face that launched a thousand suitors

Three chapters upon review, will be reading as more are released.

Beauty is both a blessing and a curse. This book captures that wonderfully, and has a vivid world of morally grey characters. This makes these folk seem more real and relatable. Great pacing, and I’m invested in the storyline. There’s a few grammar problems, but they’re super minor.

Very excited to see where this one goes.

Slow but super!

5 chapters available at the time of reading, and I will be reading more.

I usually read fantasy books, but this non-fantasy (as far as I’m aware haha!) has me hooked. I can really empathise with the MC, and I love the authors writing style. I feel connected with the book already. My only issue is; I am not really sure what the plot is or where the book is going. But, that’s fine, I was enjoying the slow-burning ride anyway!

Masterfully crafted.

This tale of a fisherman is beautifully written. It captures the vibe of fables and folklore and paints a vibrant setting. I feel connected to the character, despite the shortness of the story, and really empathised with him. I actually got goosebumps towards the end. Beautiful work. Well done.

I want more!

I think there’s eight chapters or so at the time of review and I will be reading more. I’ve just binged this.

I love dragons. I love dragon stories. I love fantasy romance. I love this book. There’s been a few errors, but overall, the writers style is captivating and live giving. Great pacing, and I desperately want more!

Fresh fantasy

Five chapters at the time of review. I will be reading more in the future.

This book has great pacing, in-depth characters I can connect to, raw emotions and interesting lore. There’s a few typos, punctuation and formatting issues, but they’re all minor and easily changed. This is a story worth keeping an eye on.

Hilarious and spicy!

Twelve chapters at the time of review, and I will be reading more!

I love a book that makes you laugh out loud. This werewolf story has me chuckling, it has me tapping for more pages, and I am invested in the story of our hybrid (?).

There’s a few issues with formatting and punctuation, which can be confusing at times, namely speech marks, tbh. Otherwise an enjoyable read :)

Bewitched!

Two chapters at the time of the review. Definitely reading more as they come out.

I don’t know yet whether her spell worked on the intended target, but I’m drawn in and hooked. I don’t have any suggestions on how to improve the story, at all (apart from, I wish there was more of it!)
The writing style is smooth, clear and characterful. Soft world-building is used, and it feels very natural to slide in and kick start the story. The pacing is great, and I feel connected to our MC immediately, curious about what she’s up to and where this fellow is. Great stuff :)

Impactful topics.

3 chapters available at the time of review. I will not be continuing with this book.

This book touches on major societal topics within the first three chapters, and the character is absolutely full of life. Within the first chapter, the way the sentences are crafted creates a rich voice for the character. The topics it explores are deep. I can imagine this will be an emotional book.
But, I also found I was confused by the writers' style, and there's a lot of grammar problems, which made it all the more confusing for me. I'm also unsure of the plot, but perhaps its a slow-burner of a story.
I also tend to prefer fantasy books rather than more 'real life' ones, so this book just isn't the genre for me.

Cool concept, poorly executed.

The concept of this story is great; live in the mind of an immortal serial killer for a short while during his stay in prison.
Unfortunately, the book is littered with poor grammar, simple composition, and a multitude of spelling errors. This work would benefit greatly from being checked over with Grammarly (it's free!). The structure of speech is confusing and dominates the story, but doesn't feel strong enough to carry out. I feel told, not shown and felt little connection to the character.
I would love to read this story again after major editing and even some rewriting so that the author has a stronger storytelling voice.

Rich, original and emotional

Sixteen chapters upon reading, will be continuing.

This book is a bit of a slow burner, but once you get past the world building (which is all very beautiful, but can be a little ā€˜info dump’ like, but I personally thought it worked very well with how it was all done) it’s gripping.

I feel great empathy and emotion towards Nicholas and my mind is whirling at the mysteries. The author is creating an enriched, enmeshed world and the plot is, I think, unique. Great stuff 😁

Action-packed and funny!

10 chapters released at the time of this review. I am keen to read more chapters as they come out.

I think the plot is great; the concept is super cool, and there is enough suspense, humour and action that I will keep reading this book - even though it isn't my usual genre. I'm invested in the characters, even if I don't particularly like Absinthe (can't get on with everyone, right?).

Some of the sentence structuring is clunky, and the style of writing isn't my favourite - but I think this is personal preference? Overall, I think this story has great potential and I'm excited to see where the author takes it.

Awesome concept!

13 Chapters at the time of Review. Will continue to read as chapters are released.

First off, I love the world and the mix between fantasy and modern elements. It is peculiar; it is alive, and it has mysteries to solve. The whole idea around a sudden crater has me curious. The side characters are fantastic, and I would love to learn more. If I am honest, I am more interested in the world where the character lives, rather than the characters Rose and Beatrice - I'm not entirely sure on the plot - I think, uncovering the mysteries of the crater?

There's a superb sense of suspense and wonderment, and I really enjoyed reading this story.

My main issue is ... don't be afraid to have some small chapters or some slightly longer. Go with what feels like the natural flow of your story, rather than what Inkitt suggests (especially shorter chapters - I find they can be used really effectively). It would've been a more enjoyable read without abrupt chapter endings, or jumping around to different places in the chapter.

There's a few minor issues with word repetition and grammar bits (I can't give loads of advice here, my grammar isn't great - I recommend reading everything out loud during editing stages), and like I said I don't really feel a connection to the MC - but that isn't really something that bothers me at all, but it might bother others.
