Stella:

I look around me, and I’m happy to be with the pack that chose me. We aren’t a normal pack. We are outlaws, or, as the others call us, we are rogues. The one that’s leading the pack is Renard Weston. He’s not my true mate, but soon he will be my mate.

He promised me that after he will avenge his brother’s death, he will mark me to be his mate.

“I don’t like this.” Onyx my wolf let me know.

“You have to give him a chance. He saved our lives.” I try to reason with her.

“But he’s not who the Moon Goddess had chosen for us. We need to be with our true mate.” She complains.

I let out a scoff. “Do you truly believe that he will want us? Whoever it is when he finds out what we are. Do you think that he will want a rogue for a mate?”

“You don’t know that. It may surprise you when we’ll find him.”

I close my eyes. “Onyx, please. I need you to get on board with this. We may never find him. Are you going to deny me happiness, because of a man we never met?”

Onyx lets out a sigh. “You’re not fair playing that card with me. You know I will do anything for you.”

Onyx is a rare wolf. Her fur is all pure white. Some cultures believe that a white wolf is a good ornament. That it brings luck to those who are close to it.

None of this is true. Our past is a good example.

When I was fifteen years old, my pack was obliterated by hunters. I survived because my mother helped me escape. She whipped my clothes on dead werewolves’ blood, so my scent would be hidden from them. She took her last breath to save me.

A month had passed before Renard found me starving to death. I never left his side after that. Now that I’m twenty-two, I’m ready to be with him as his mate.

He just needs me to do something first. After that, we will be together forever.

We haven’t kissed yet. He said that when the time comes, he will let me know with our first kiss. In the pack, we have unmated males, but none dare to touch me. They know that if they do, they will deal with Caesar.

He’s Renard’s wolf. Caesar is black as the night. He would never dare to hurt me. He doesn’t want Onyx to hate him.

I jump, feeling two big hands on my shoulders. “Stella, what are you doing?” I smile. hearing Renard’s voice behind me.

I turn around so I can look at him. “Going on the hunt, with you guys.”

He brushes a lock of my hair behind my ear. “What did I tell you?”

My smile disappears. “To not participate.”

He grabs my chin so I would look him in the eyes. “And why is that?”

I clear my throat. “Because Onyx will be easy for the prey to see her.”

“What else.” He insists.

“We don’t want to take the risk for someone to see her. She could put the pack in danger.”

“Good girl.” Renard leaves a kiss on my forehead. “I promise you, soon you’ll be able to let her out more often.”

Renard only let me change into my wolf before she could become upset. If a wolf gets locked up for a long period it can become crazy, and it would be irreversible.

“And you wonder why I’m skeptical toward him,” Onyx replies to me.

Before I turned eighteen years old, Onyx had never had a problem with Renard. Ever since we were old enough to find our mate, she started to see him differently.

As she said, she would do anything for me. SO I know she won’t stop me when I mate with Renard even if he wasn’t chosen for us.

I look at him with pleading eyes.“Why can’t you stay with me, instead of going on the hunt.”

He smiles at my comment. “If I could, I would. Stay hidden until I come back to fetch you. You know what happened the last time you didn’t listen to me.”

I shake my head. “Don’t worry, I won’t disobey you.”

With envy, I see the others change into their wolf, preparing for the hunt. I go back inside the cave as I will wait for Renard’s return.

“Now that he’s gone, we can go for a run.” Onyx tries to convince me.

“No! You know what happened last time.” I protest. “Renard didn’t speak to me for two weeks. That hurt me a lot. I don’t want to take that chance again.”

Onyx turns her back on me, laying down. She’s mad at me.

I lay on the floor to sleep a little.

I’m running. No, I’m not the one who’s running, it’s Onyx who’s running inside a forest. She’s free and happy. She looks at her side as she keeps running. A beautiful brown-black wolf is running beside her. Onyx feels pure joy to see him, and so am I.

I open my eyes as I wake up from that dream. Now I feel shameful. How can I dream of a wolf I never saw before. I want Renard and Caesar to be ours. I’m glad that Onyx can’t see my dreams. It will give her another reason to refuse them as our mate.

I shouldn’t hide that from her, but I can’t help it. Renard saved my life. He has always been there for me. I won’t betray him.

“Stella, we are back. It’s time for you to eat.” Renard takes my hand to guide me to the food they just hunt.

It’s a rabbit, I love rabbits. We all eat in silence. As always we eat in silence.

Once we were done eating, everyone left except Renard, Eric and me. Eric is Renard’s second hand.

“Stella.” Renard starts to speak to me. “Remember I told you that I will ask something of you.” He looks with a serious expression.

I nod my head.

“I need your help to avenge my brother’s death. I need you and Onyx.”

I take his hand. “You know I would do anything for you.”

“I want you to infiltrate a pack to seduce their Alpha. He’s mated to someone, but she’s not his true mate. So their bond won’t be as strong as it would have been between an Alpha and a Luna.”

I release his hand as I step back. “You want me to seduce him? You said you would be my first to everything.”

“I knew that would happen.” Eric hiss.

“Leave us, Eric. Let me handle this.” Renard orders him.

Eric nods his head, leaving me alone with my future mate.

“How can you ask something like this to me?” I asked him.

“Stella, you promised me that you would do anything for me. Remember I saved your life. If you refuse this. I won’t mate you.”

I gasp, hearing those words. “How do you expect me to do this? I’m a rogue. He would never go for someone like me. You said it yourself, he’s already mated.”

Renard let out a growl. No, I think it was Caesar. “Are you questioning me?” He takes a deep breath to calm his anger. “Trust me, Stella. Once the Alpha will see Ony, he won’t be able to refuse you access to his pack. After that, you let me deal with the details.”

“But why seduce him? You told me you’ll be my first.”

Renard grabs each of my arms with a little force. “I told you once I will avenge my brother’s death. You will be mine.” He releases my arms, cupping my face. “Do this for me, please.”

“Okay.”

Even if I’m a little scared of him, I can’t refuse him. I own him so much.

“I don’t like this,” Onyx says.

Neither am I, but I don’t have a choice here. Especially if it means that I will get what I always wanted. Which is him.
