Intriguing!

Colorful descriptions and a well-written internal monologue!

The opening reminded me of how I felt when I read John Grisham's story, A Painted House. Due to the descriptions, it seems as if the main character has a good sense of awareness, but I have an inkling that the story is being told by an unreliable narrator and the reader will need to zero in on the cues that the main character is overlooking. Great opening and well done!

Fantastic

Felt like I was trapped in my own head, I suppose this was the author's intention. The claustrophobic feeling adds to the intensity. I can't wait to read more.

Me & Her

I finished this earlier than I expected. I love psychological thrillers and I have to say you nailed it. I did have trouble picturing the characters and their surroundings. Overall great story.

A fantastic read for those who love unwavering action and drama. An unusual coming-of-age story filled with excitement and controversy.
The main character's angsty personality makes him relatable, and even though he is gifted, I had the impression that he still felt powerless.

A Binge Read.

Classically beautiful writing paired with rich storytelling. Though I had been confused in the beginning, I realized that this had been the author's intention, well done, I was left intrigued and on the edge of my seat.

I have praised this author for their beautiful introductions in the past and was pleased to discover a nearly completed work.

This author has a gift for artful openings that teases a sense of adventure. Though I enjoy the suspense, I honestly can't wait to view the completed work.

I liked the idea of the story, but I have one suggestion. Maybe you should kick the story off by River exploding at her parents, then dive into the details of the divorce. An excited reaction at the beginning of a story always draws me in.
