Emma Sharpe

i adore dark material. i love a paragraph that literally makes my skin crawl and ushers evil paranoia into my living-room for a dance macabre.

Intriguing and fun read

A lovely, cheeky little story that demonstrates the writer's skill at hooking the reader in, creating curiosity and mounting tension. I felt like an accomplice to the main character. Well done.

Extraordinary

The writer very gently feeds you a fish hook wrapped in a very dull run of the mill character going about nothing particularly interesting which sums up most peoples life. Beware because at the end of the first chapter she yanks that hook into your mouth and hauls you through the rest of the story, it is impossible to put down. The author very carefully unpacks her characters in an unexpected way and ensures that you are a full participant in this harrowing reconstruction of the sex trade. They are well rendered 3d characters, no straw men around here. The story itself is a very tough read, especially as a woman it does press all the wrong buttons, and it is (for the same reasons) a very rewarding read.

Good luck Courtney, I have no doubt this one is headed for the stars.
