Chapter 1
I wondered if anyone could tell if I hated being here.
I wondered if anyone could see how I hated myself for doing this.
Either way, there was no doubt I could never get rid of the disgust I felt for myself. Every time I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t make eye contact with myself. I was ashamed of myself but I had no choice. This was the easiest and quickest way to make money.
I sat at the makeup table as other girls rushed around getting ready to walk the floor or get up on stage to start their routine. I didn’t talk much to the other girls because we were so different. Of course, I didn’t dislike them but we never always saw eye to eye. It was difficult to be around girls who enjoyed the job they did.
I lifted my gaze from the table with a deep breath and started to touch up my makeup. I had never worn so much makeup until I started this job a year ago. A few girls helped me learn to make it look good but I hated it. I hated being so fake to keep men and the occasional woman happy. They never realised that I hated having to smile or flirt with them, just to get extra tips.
“Bunny,”
I looked up at another girl parading around in a small dark red bikini, “Hey, Roxy,”
“Your set starts soon,” She said, “Are you almost ready?”
I nodded, “I just need to get changed,”
“Well, hurry up. We have a big crowd tonight and a few of your regulars are complaining you are taking too long,” She said and squeezed my bare shoulder, “You look beautiful as ever, Bunny,”
I sent her a small smile and she walked off. My smile fell from my face and I sighed. God. I hated that name and I hated how it came out of men’s mouths trying to get more than a dance. I wasn’t proud of what I did and I just had to keep it from my younger brother.
I changed into a small black bikini, rubbed myself down with glittery moisturiser, and then stepped into a pair of black heels. I pulled the hairband from my hair and shook my hair, giving it some more life. My hair was naturally dark and wavy, and it took a while to get it under control. The men in this club liked my long hair so my boss told me to keep it below my shoulders. If I had it cut too short, I would have to wear a wig until it grew to the correct length.
Although occasionally, we would wear wigs depending on the day.
I geared myself up and left the changing rooms to head to the stage. As I reached backstage, another girl pushed by me after finishing her dance.
“They are goddamn animals tonight!” She hissed, “Three men were kicked out for grabbing me, so watch yourself Bunny. They are total nutcases!”
The music changed and I walked out onto stage getting a few cheers. I plastered a fake smile on my face and grabbed the pole, starting my dance.
I swayed my hips side to side, dancing against the pole and turned to show my ass to the viewers of my dance. I ignored the catcalls and inappropriate requests. It was a regular occurrence but as long as they didn’t touch me, the bouncers had no care in the world.
Men whistled loudly as I lifted my hands behind me to undo the knot on my bikini top. I smirked and looked over my shoulder dropping it onto the floor. I was momentarily frozen when it sounded like a growl echoed through the building but I carried on dancing.
I was glad when the dance had finished. I blew a kiss and picked my bikini top from the floor and left the stage. Another girl came over to me and redid the knot for me on my top. She sent me a tight smile and we headed to the floor.
I did my rounds, working my way through the tables and groups of men, flirting with them, giving them winks and running my hands across their arms as I walked by them. By the time I reached the bar, a drink was ready for me. I thanked the barman and downed it, enjoying the burn in my stomach.
A shiver ran down my spine and I looked over my shoulder to see three men standing at a table, nursing their drinks with their eyes on me. I couldn’t help but gulp as I caught eyes with the man standing in the middle and I felt myself start towards him.
But I was intercepted by my boss, “Bunny,”
“Hello, Mr Choi,”
“You’ve been requested,” He smiled at me, “Room three please,”
I nodded and turned my attention back to the three men before I made my way towards the room but they had gone from the table.
My heart was in my throat as I stood outside the room but I had to pretend I was the confident girl everyone knew in this place. I pushed the door open and almost stumbled at the man sitting on the sofa.
He was even more gorgeous closer up and his dark eyes watched me as I closed the door behind me. His eyes ran up and down my body slowly and a small smirk appeared on his face.
“Hello, handsome,” I said walking over to him, “You were told of my private dances fees?”
He nodded and stretched his arms across the back of the sofa. I swung my leg over his lap and he stopped me from dancing.
“Is there a problem?”
“Yes,” He said and his voice gave me goosebumps, “I don’t want a dance,”
“Then why did you request me?” I said, standing up, “You’ve paid me for a dance, so-”
“I requested you, yes, but not for a dance,” He said, running his thumb over my cheekbone. I smacked his hand away and he smirked, “Feisty, kitten,”
“I’m going now,” I said, “Don’t request me again if you aren’t after a dance,”
It was getting late and I just wanted to go home and sleep. I was struggling to keep a smile on my face so when Mr Choi came over to me, I wanted to scream.
“Room 5, Bunny,” He said, “For the rest of the night,”
“What?”
“He has paid a lot of money for you to stay with him for the rest of the night. So be sure to keep him happy, Bunny,”
“Of course,” I said holding in a sigh. He smacked my ass as I walked away and I gritted my teeth, wanting to punch him in the face.
I reached the room in no time and cursed under my breath as I saw the same man sitting on the sofa.
“Is this some kind of joke to you?” I asked, “Is there a reason why you keep requesting me and-”
“You look tired,” He said standing up.
“What?”
“I said you look tired,” The man stopped in front of me, “I requested you for a dance to cover up my real plan for you,”
“I don’t understand what you mean,” I frowned, “I’m here to-”
“Dance, yes. I know,” He said, “Can’t say I’m happy to see you dancing for other men,”
“Right,” I said slowly, “Care to tell me what you really requested me for?”
“What’s your name, kitten?”
“Bunny,” I said, “What’s yours?”
“Jeon Jungkook,” He smirked, “What’s your real name, kitten?”
“Bun,”
Jungkook sighed and nodded, “Ok. We can play that way,”
“Look, Jungkook,” I said, “Why did you request me? I don’t have time to be messed around. I have money to-”
“Here,” He said, pulling an envelope from his blazer pocket, “You were right. This is yours. Take it and go home,”
I frowned and took the envelope from him, “I don’t understand,”
Jungkook chuckled, “What is there to understand? I’m paying you to go home and sleep. You are tired and you need to rest. Take the money and go home,”
I looked at the envelope and back at his handsome face, “Thank you,”
“No worries, kitten,” He said, smirking at me, “I hope to see you soon,”
