Writer Challenges

My biggest challenge this upcoming week:

I have a research paper due on the 6th, but I would much rather write on my novels instead!!! I keep telling myself, the sooner I finish the paper, the sooner I can get back to my characters!! ;)

Hi,

I'm a fantasy writer who spent a couple of decades writing a novel about elves. Despite winning some awards the book is not selling. When I started writing it as a teenager I just wanted to create a quintessential fantasy adventure. I never thought about breaking new ground or world building., I just wrote a mythical story about elves. Most of the reviews were good, but one critic said I had aped Tolkien.. But Tolkien borrowed his elves from Norse mythology so I never fully credited him
