Almost works
This is a five star plot in the vein of Christopher Lee and Vincent Price films. The problem is, that it moves at the speed of quick dry cement. As the author is obviously foreign born, I would normally avoid criticism of their technical writing skills. Yet it's obviously never been proofread, not even by the original author, and it's been up for at least three years. That's enough time for someone to point this out. Numerous times one character spoke another character's thoughts. Future reader's should make comments on these errors (No one did.). I will be happy to change my review to five stars with editing. I would recommend the author watch a few "Hammer films" to understand the art of what to exclude in mystery/horror. As slow moving as it is, it accomplishes boring first before fear and horror. Sadly, someone else will probably steal the plot, cut out the unnecessary, and have themselves a winner. I read it because it had the top spot in a "horror" writing contest but, ultimately, found it disappointing. I do encourage others to read it, provided they make helpful comments. I did not do that because with 42 reviews and top spot, I expected it to be unnecessary. It is. The next reader should slice and dice in the comments section. Otherwise, three more years will go by.
