Well written, enjoyable story 5/5 imo
The Origin of F.O.R.C.E. isn’t the type of genre I would pick up generally however I’ve very glad I was recommended this. As I’m fairly new to the genre I didn’t know what to expect and I was very pleased with how much I enjoyed this tale. Miller uses real world events to bring his story to life so much so some of the events could potentially happen in our world, if you believe that is. We start with a father and son team who are scouting out a new planet for their race, the Chrysallamans, to live on. Planet HG-281 seems perfect, and of course it’s only inhabited with the most primitive of lifeforms. The planet we fast learn is Earth, and we are these uneducated primitive beings which are due to be so unceremoniously killed off to make way for a superpower race, this doesn’t bode to well for us humans. I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone so I’ll avoid spoilers but I felt this is an excellent story, with great writing, and detail. I really enjoyed how in my mind’s eye I could really picture what was going on, the people the places. Made it really come alive for me. There are lots of characters and each person is well thought out and adds to the experience of reading.
While this is the first instalment in the series I am very much looking forward to the next to find out what is to come.
