Heavy Stuff

Definitely heavy themes, here. I did always wonder about Bellatrix, although I wouldn't say she confined herself to one gender, but to whatever she needed to do to satisfy her ambition.
Anyway, good, solid writing, and a good premise that's high on the creep factor. Even with the dark themes, nicely done.

Good effort

Obviously, the author worked hard on this story, and also wanted to create a specific atmosphere. In that, he succeeds -- the story is very atmospheric. It's so atmospheric, in fact, that the plot gets a little lost in all the description. Now this is coming from someone who never could get into Tolkien's work, no matter how hard she tried, so this may just be my personal preferences coming through. In any event, as another reviewer noted, some good editing would probably solve most of the issues.

Having said all that, the story does address some interesting issues, and I'd like to know more about how the people on the "blue dot" react to Pluto being inhabited. I sort of felt like I was dropped into the middle of the story though, without much of a frame of reference, but again, a little judicious editing and re-writing could solve that issue.

The story is certainly worth reading and I salute the author's hard work and effort to build a story and a world. Good effort.

Major Creep Factor!

I swear, this story reminds me of driving from Wilkesboro, N.C. (I'd been to Merlefest) back to my hotel in Jonesville. It was a foggy night and I missed a turn (in the days before GPS), and ended up on some dark back road in who knows where! I retraced my steps and FINALLY found the freeway. I've never been so glad to see an Interstate in my life! LOLOLOL.

Anyway, great tension buildup and awesome creepy factor. The monster you don't see is always scarier than the one you can see, at least according to Steven Spielberg. I think he's right. Good, tight writing. Good work!

Review for Sleeping with Ghosts

Very interesting premise! I liked the plot and the way you held back how the narrator "met" Sebastian. I wondered at first if you were going for a "Ghost and Mrs. Muir" sort of story, but you surprised me!
I enjoyed the story. Good work!

Better than the original!

I read the "50 Shades" trilogy, but never really liked it, mostly for technical reasons. However, your trip inside Leila's head is certainly one of the more interesting takes I've seen on the whole series. You really capture her disorganized thinking, while still keeping focused on her envy of Ana and her pathetic desire for Christian. It's obvious we're dealing with someone who needs psychiatric care, which begs the question of why Christian ever picked her for a sub to start with, but I digress.

Anyway, this was a good read, focused and well written. Good work!
