Amazing story!

Andy! Wow!

Great story. I read the whole thing in one seating. So thrilling. You are a great story teller. You made me feel for Sienna Reed. Please tell me there will be more. I need to know if Alessio is guilty. Either you have a vivid imagination or had a rich life experience. You have the ability to create worlds, I could actually visualize every scene as well as the characters. I do love Layla!

But there are some grammar and punctuation irregularity. Do go through it or post in Grammarly to help you edit. Some sentences are missing pronouns, prepositions and have the wrong word. You use through sometimes in the wrong context.

But overall, such a great story. Please continue to write it! I want to know about Alessio and his sister and that plastic Kiara Jones too.

Can't wait!

A fan!

A Mermaid Watcher's story

Dear Readers,

I grew up listening to stories about Mermaids and Mermen, and Sirens. Stories about water, lake, river, ocean spirits or monsters who can be selfish or selfless based on the personalities of their subjects. They can be cruel and perceived as demons or they can be gentle and be seen as magical, elegant beings based on your nature.

For as long as I can remember, Christo and Sia's story was always at the forefront of my mind. The story of an overprotective brother who dared to keep his sister entertained with fairy tales, stories about sea creatures. Christo was such a great storyteller that his little sister found herself dreaming secretly about becoming a carefree Mermaid. Inevitably, one day she carried out the process to make her dream come true as she felt more like a burden to her big brother.

It's a very tragic tale but a cautionary one. Young, impressionable minds are rarely shaped to understand reality as it is. 95% of the time in that stage in their lives, they live in an imaginary world with imaginary friends. I was weeping senselessly when writing it. I could not even help myself. It's as if the story needed to be told even though it was so heartbreaking.

All Sia needed was someone to reveal to her that these stories were make belief. They were purely intended for entertainment.

If you have heard of the Folklore story "Tezen nan dlo", Christo the Mermaid Watcher is my take on it. Let me know what you think~

Cheers,

Ra

April Kills Fools

The main character and title of this book came to me before I could conceive the plot. While I was overseas for work, I met someone who became a very dear friend of mine. He also shared my passion for horror stories, scary movies, and storytelling. I found out that he was born on April first and I just could not let him be without making all these jokes about what could go horribly wrong on his birthday.

Out of the blue, we started brainstorming on a plot about an anti-hero who was unlucky enough to be born on April Fool’s Day. We knew right away that her name had to be April. My juices were flowing and sketching out the plot provided a medium for us to escape during our time in that place.

I remember watching a movie based on the infamous Josef Fritzl, I was so upset that a father could abuse their daughter in such an inexcusable and heinous manner and out of all places, Austria. One of the most peaceful countries in the world. I read the story in its entirety, and something was just not sitting right with me. I wanted revenge for the daughter. As authors we purge through creative writing.

So the plot evolved around the abused girl who blossomed into a Goddess to dispatch pranksters on April Fool’s Day. Not any pranksters, deadly ones who leave a trail of bodies in their path yet only get a slap on the wrist. Growing up I loved watching these scary installments: Friday the 13th, A nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and I asked my younger self: why are they all middle-aged men chasing after innocent women and children for the sole purpose of inflicting great suffering?

Over the years, I have seen other scary films with women depicted as the supervillain or anti-hero but the characters were never as relatable, or permanent fixtures as the likes of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers. April was going to remedy that with her very own brand of specialties. The fact and the matter is that she only kills guilty fools on April Fool’s Day

Foley Neptenu

Foley is about a cursed family. But what is the origin of the curse? All curses usually stem from greed or love. It's never hate per studies conducted on the topic. The Neptenus family is not any different, the deal was brokered between Fink Neptenu and the Devil through Rockerfellow. For every deal you make with anyone, it's transactional not emotional. It's about a service, or a product or a person one wants and in return they must hand something valuable. They must forsake something dear to them if a deal is made with the devil.

Foley was a fourth generation of the cursed family. And he happens to be the one the family must sacrifice or he would have to sacrifice them willingly or unwillingly to honor the deal. Do you think deals that were brokered long ago by your ancestors can be broken? Do you believe that love and the way you treat someone can change their path for the better?

Foley was unlucky enough to be born a Neptenu. As a third son, he would befall the worst life experience that could be dealt to anyone. He will learn from good folks and bad people what it truly takes to be simply Foley.

Are we the sum of our experiences? Or simply following a path that was already made for us?

I grew up in a storytelling culture, Foley's story took life when I was 12 years old and one family member made a peculiar comment to me one day. They revealed to me that in my family all the women were pre-selected by birth to be espoused by familial spirits, gods and there was nothing they do could about it. If they were to get married to human males, their marriages would dissipate like the wind or end horribly in some circumstances.

I remember feeling lost, upset, and in disbelief. How could this be? That all women are pre-destined a certain fate just because they were born into an unfortunate family? It was equally intriguing and baffling.

I want to point out that I see myself as one of those brilliant women who ended the cycle and pursued our own journeys into the sunset!

After all, it's just another story stemmed from life experiences and my keen imagination box.

A refreshing insider's look into Modern Vikings

I love everything about this premise. I love that is focusing on the MC world which co-exists if not complements the Vikings' New World Order. I love that it has not taken itself too seriously while still maintaining the Viking Lore. It is an intriguing topic and you have managed to make me fall in love with two characters in three chapters.

Just minor grammatical errors overall great plot and writing style!

I cannot wait to read some more.

The munchies...

I actually enjoyed this book more than I anticipated. I will lay out the great and not so great about the story and character development.

The not so great:

The MC is driven but too robotic. I do understand while it may be intentional but I find myself disliking him altogether. You want your readers to like your MC. Unless you are painting him as an antihero. Even so, there should be at least an attempt to make him likeable. Likeability equals more fans. For example "Deadpool".

The grammar and writing style need some editing but the main purpose of each character is clearly conveyed. There are broken sentences throughout in need of proper punctuation. Too many long paragraphs that could be better read if cut in half or add some much needed dialogues here and there.

Time and place seem to be nonexistent in more than half of the book. I keep wondering and end up having to add in my own period and location in some chapters. In order to ground myself as I was getting confused with the lack of description.

The conversations and actions taken place in this book are not deemed to be rated mature. Yes there is mild violence depicted but not to the extent of being a carnage a la Deadpool.

Please pace yourself!

The great:

I enjoyed the high concept energy behind the world building. To me it reads as a food system. I think it's an ingenious idea that can be explored further. I can definitely see this story developed into a miniseries or a comic series on Netflix.

The plot is highly original. I have never heard of superpowers obtained through ingesting different types of foods. You can do so much with this one. Quite frankly, I was getting the munchies while reading this book (:

The book cover tells the story of a gladiator gourmet which is a part of a series. So readers should already be prepared to commit. It is well done. No one should be confused about the storyline and what it may entail. The title is prominently spelled out in gold and bold. An eye catcher indeed!

Overall, this is a great premise. Keep updating it and making it better.

Kudos,

Ra!

Extraordinary twists!!!!

A compelling topical story about the lengths conformist, tunnel vision, parents who suffer from all the "isms" would go to ensure they are raising only conforming children.

The story further explores that no matter the race or species, these highly judgmental, gender biased, and selfish parents do exist and prevail. It twisted my world because I did not expect anyone in the story to be creatures or the least be discriminated against for their lifestyles, or personalities. Nicely done!

It is essentially a love story that expands on the dynamics of family relationships. Matt and Connor meet under surreal circumstances. Matt is an open-minded sibling who loves his younger siblings to bits. No matter their preferences or lifestyle. He is a good thoughtful, caring brother to Avery and Mason. Even though, they are not of the same race, we find out later that they were humans turned vampires, Matt loves them unconditionally as far as risking his life for Mason to go save them from the "Monsters" his parents traded him in for a version of them that will be obedient and PC to flatter their impeccable vanilla image.

It is also a poetic love tale about where the protagonist found out that his mate was under his nose the whole time. The plot elements utilized in the storytelling are seamless. They help carry the story along. The characters are enticing and each had their own voice. However, I wished Jethro and Jocelyn had dialogues to learn more about them. Though, the storytelling lacks objectivity as it is only being told from Connor and Matt's POV. I recommend to re-read both chapters and give some light to Mason.

I love the built up, the foreshadowing to the action scenes. I could actually visualize it. I wanted to learn more about their world. I was impressed by the otherworldly creature element. Please keep writing this story! I want to know more.

Fuego!!!!!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

You were not teasing when you warned to have iced water readily available if one dared to peek. I like how each story had the potential to be their own standalone novel. They were not just cheap thrills, they were thrills you wanted to invest more time on. Good job on keeping the stories fresh and engaging.

Beautifully written!

You created a world where Silas, a murderer of corrupt and hypocrites who also condemns himself for being the very same thing, a liar, but with a code, who is loved, so effortlessly. The plot is an endearing journey of a killer to his mate unbeknownst to him. Arche is well-intentioned and respected by all for his size and stature. The boy/killer, Silas/Luke is troubled, small but self-sustaining. They could not have been more of polar opposites if they tried but they are perfect for each other.

You painted the pain, and the rage so compellingly well that I could feel his pain.

I want to know more about Arche and this new clan. Will Silas/Luke accept his mate? Will he reject him?

Flawless, enticing!

Dan,

I enjoyed this story greatly, I love the character development you achieved. I knew and felt for every single character. I understood what made them tick, and made them growl. The name change to the usual monster names given by a misunderstood society was a great tool to drive the essence of the story. The plot was amazing but the story, unique. It was truly a unique depiction of a werewolf as the main character. The level of detail entrusted in each of the characters, his group of friends and families, you only want to cheer for them! Harmony is definitely a supportive town with a heroic cast like the Sheriff Ron, his beautiful wife, his twins Breena and Brody, the St Clairs and their daughter Gabby, Miles Coen and his mom, what can Dillon and his family ever fear?
