Earthshattering

This piece of literature is one of my favourite pieces that i've ever read, fanfiction or otherwise. I didn't read a single word that I wasn't entirely emotionally invested in, every image so clear and real. You managed to take characters I already adored, and gave me even more reasons to love them. I had the privilege to witness some of this piece being written, and it's an experience that I hold dear.

You managed to weave two realms together seamlessly, and somehow improved immensely upon the source material. I found myself more invested in your fic than I had been in either Soul Eater or Bastion. Coming from someone who has had a great deal of difficulty with accepting and dealing with with emotions, reading something so incredibly emotionally charged was a cathartic experience that helped me a great deal. The incredible imagery, the empathy your words awakened in me, and the sheer beauty of this piece are things you should forever be incredibly proud of, and I thank you for sharing this with the world.

Whiplash

I've never found myself very invested in superhero stories. Spiderman was never really my thing, and though I do enjoy Christian Bale doing his growl-y manly man shtick, I don't really give much a damn about his story. This fic made me rethink my indifference toward all things superhero. The true beauty of this piece is really shown in Soul's internal struggle against his less than noble thoughts and tendencies. It's like meeting your shadow, and then having it hold out it's hand for you to shake but instead it clocks you and leaves you reeling. Soul's battle with the self is so familiar, so truly tangible that i could feel his frustration, his anger, his pain, I could feel everything he was feeling, right alongside my own set of emotions.

The resolution to this story felt realistic and right. No one gets through this shit unscathed, but they rise from ruin again all the same, and all the better for it. I really love this story.. It's heartwarming, funny, sexy, painful, and more, and everyone who has the opportunity to read it should absolutely do so. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.

Life Changing

I know it's probably cliche, but visceral would probably be one of the best adjectives to describe this incredible piece. Going on this journey with Maka was emotionally draining, and painful, and oh so wonderful. The start of this makes so clear the lack of hope for any kind of future, anything more than just surviving. Death doesn't seem like the worst thing, and it's terrifying.

And then we're fed a crumble of hope, and it's enough.

It's enough because it has to be. We as the readers are feel the urgency so clearly, the desperate, grasping at hope, at normalcy. There's dirty jokes at the end of the world folks, and that's so so so important. Everyone has their own complete story, no one is left as a flat character, subtly made real with tidbits of information about their backgrounds, their life before the world died. I rarely gave Harvey a second thought before this fic, but today he remains one of my favourite characters, mostly due to this story.

This piece will always be very important to me, and I thank you. For the hope, and the beauty, and the truth of humanity.
