Chapter Six

[Earl]

I smiled when I saw Matthias climbing out of his car and walking towards me. We decided to pick this café for our date because we heard that the cakes they sell here were delicious.

When he arrived in front of me, I pouted and he just shrugged his shoulders playfully.

“You’re late.” I mumbled.

“Well, I was caught up into traffic.” He smiled down and leaned down to give me a brief kiss on the lips. I smiled back at him and blushed when I saw some of the people sitting down on the tables were staring at us. Matthias doesn’t seem to care.

“So.” He sat across me and crossed his legs and arms. “What do you want to the whole day?” He asked charmingly and I giggled.

“Well, I thought that we could first watch a movie.” I answered and Matthias’ nose scrunched a bit.

“Movie? Damn, I hate movies.” He said and I glared at him.

“No one hates movies.” I said and he glared back.

“Well, I do hate them so deal with it.”

We continued our glaring contest until the waitress broke it off by giving the menu to us. She smiled at Matthias and me and waited patiently for our order.

I scanned the booklet before finally deciding to order a regular strawberry milkshake and honey glazed donut. Matthias ordered a large chocolate Frappuccino.

The waitress nodded, jotting down the food we ordered and skimped off to do her job. Matthias sighed and leaned back on the chair.

“Fine, we’re gonna watch the damn movie. Happy now?” He asked. He must know that I was sulking because he looked at me and waited to see if I agree.

“Good.” I grinned at him.

After chilling at the café, we got back to Matthias’s car to go to a nearby movie house. Once we arrived, I excitedly walked out of the vehicle and trotted towards the building. I saw Matthias wasn’t as interested as I was so I pulled him to make him walk faster. We entered the theatre after buying our tickets and picked a good seat to watch the movie.

“Damn, can’t you at least pick an action movie?” Matthias complained.

“Why? ‘Three sisters and their unicorns’ is a good movie!” I said and he just groaned.

“Fuck unicorns.” He muttered.

Soon, people covered the other vacant seats. There were elders, couples and families who were watching. Matthias impatiently looked at them and muttered on how they can watch a movie this lame.

The lights went out and the opening credits started to flash on the screen.

Matthias moaned and I can’t help but to laugh at his distress. He’s too manly to watch this movie.

“Jesus, I think I’m gonna puke.” He mumbled after we saw the scene where the three sisters finally saw their pet unicorns.

“Ssssh!” I hushed him down.

“Oh wow, look at his shiny petticoat! Hey, Jessica, do you really think we can keep them?!”

“I don’t know, Penelope, should we? I mean, what do unicorns even eat?”

“I bet it eat rainbows!”

“Good Lord.” Matthias whispered again and I saw him roll his eyes.

I hid a laugh. This was just too good!

The movie reached its climax and everyone was tensed in every scenes.

“Oh no.” I muttered when the bad guys kidnapped the unicorns to sell them off.

“Geez, you’re way too deep into the movie, it’s creepy.” Matthias commented but I ignored him.

When I felt a hand caressed my arm, I looked down and saw Matthias hand on me. “Next time, I get to pick the movie.”

I smiled. “Okay.”

He intertwined his fingers with mine and held it tight. He brought it up, close to his lips, giving the back of my hand a kiss before putting it down again.

I blushed at his actions but concentrated on the movie again.

The movie was fantastic. I don’t know what Matthias’ problem was but it’s a really good movie to watch.

We walked out of the theatre and Matthias rubbed his head. “Where should we go next?”

“How about we go to the new aquarium downtown?” I asked and he nodded.

“Fine.”

We hopped in the car and went to the next location of our date. We arrived and I saw the long line of people waiting to enter. Matthias and I lined up as well.

“Oh. We should do this once.” I said as I pull out my phone in my pocket. I readied the camera and stretched out my arm to take our picture. But damn, it’s just too short and Matthias’ damn too tall that we can’t fit inside the frame.

“Gimme.” Matthias snatched the phone away from me. He put it up just above our heads and we posed to get out picture. Once it was done, we looked at it and Matthias snorted when he saw my ridiculous expression.

“You look like a kid here.” Matthias said still stifling a laugh. I pouted at him and grabbed my phone. I looked at it and set the picture as my wallpaper.

“Shut up.” I mumbled and he just ruffled my hair.

“Come on.” He pulled my hand and led me inside the aquarium.

I sighed when I sat on the bench. We just finished touring the aquarium and it was wonderful. I almost memorized all the names of the fishes while Matthias looks bored all through the time.

Matthias arrived and gave me the can of soda before sitting down next to me. He popped his own soda and drank it in just a few gulps.

I looked down and stared at the can. “Hey Matthias. Thanks.”

Matthias looked at me. He just smiled or rather smirk. “What’re you thanking me for?”

“Because you…”

I blinked when suddenly, everything turned into darkness.

I looked around and stood up from where I was sitting. I glanced back at Matthias and gasped when he was no longer there.

“No. No. No.” I clutched my head and shook it. “No please!”

I don’t want to go back!

“No!”

I abruptly got up and gasped when I saw that I was somewhere I’m not familiar with. The walls of the room were covered in bricks and the bed I was laying down was damp.

“What…?” I held my head. “It was just a dream.” I rubbed my eyes. “No.” Tears were rolling down my cheeks. “No, Matthias. Come back.”

I gasped when arms snaked around my waist. I looked down and saw Tom smirking at me.

“Are you crying?” He asked smugly.

I forced the tears to stop. I don’t want to let him see me vulnerable like this. If I did, he’ll only torment me much more.

“Let go.” I tried to get him off my back but he tightened his hold.

“I’m the one giving the orders here.” He said and threw me back on the bed. He climbed on top of me and massaged both my nipples. “You look so hot, Earl.”

You look like shit. I thought to myself. I don’t want to retort him anymore. The wounds on my body cannot keep up anymore. It hurts a lot and whenever his hand grazed them, it’ll sting to the point that it’s making me numb already.

He grasped my member hard and started to stroke it. “Hmm, this is all for me.” He muttered and bowed down to kiss me on the lips. I closed them shut but he squeezed my cheeks to make them open. I screamed when he pinched the head of my cock and he quickly inserted his tongue inside my mouth.

“No!” I swayed my head away from him but he slapped me on the cheeks. I cried out at the pain.

“You don’t have the right to defy me, bitch.” He smirked evilly.

My eyes widened and I screamed in distress when he thrusts deep inside all of a sudden. It felt like my insides rip. I can’t even move anymore because of the pain.

I don’t want this anymore. I just want to go back home, to my dad, to Elizabeth, to Edward and Harry.

Ha grabbed both of my hands and pinned it up the headboard while thrusting deep inside me. I cried out every time he did and I wanted to disappear so much.

“You feel so good, Earl!” He kissed me on the lips again and licked it before moaning in my ear while I only whimper.

Matthias.

I’m slowly losing my mind.

Three?

Five?

Eight?

How many days had passed already?

How many beatings should I bear before I can get out of here?

Why do I have a life like this?

All I want was to be normal.

Why do I have to endure this kind of thing?

Every part of my body ache.

Mentally and physically.

I can’t think straight anymore.

Maybe, I do deserve this.

I played Tom’s heart.

Betrayed him.

What if…I was meant to be in here?

What if…Matthias already forgot about me?

My existence wasn’t that important to anyone anyway.

I guess…I just have to accept this.

I turned my head and remained motionless on the floor.

I feel so dirty, sweaty and sticky.

I smell so horrible.

I want to die.

I want to die right now.

Matthias won’t come anyway.

Why would he?

It’s not like I’m his lover or something like that.

But.

But still –

I still believe –

He’ll come.

Right, God?

He’ll come, right?

He’ll take me away from this hell hole.

Please, let it be true.

I –

I want Matthias and no one else.

Matthias.

Please.

The metal door opened and I braced myself when I saw Tom with his usual smirk and evil glare.

I shouldn’t have dated him.

Fuck, I’m such an idiot.

Why am I even thinking about that?

It’s too late now.

“I’m about to own the biggest bank company in the whole world, Earl.” He squatted beside me and gently slapped my face. “Hey, you still alive?”

I twitched and just stared at him with blank eyes.

“Don’t worry. I’ll deal with your beloved Matthias later. I’ll show you how I’ll kill that bastard. Slowly, until he bleeds in pain. I’ll torture him in front of you.” He giggled at his thought.

I opened my mouth and as expected, my voice was hoarse. “You know…that’s a funny sentiment you have.”

I looked behind him and watched Tom’s bodyguard slowly disappeared in the dark. I glanced back at him. “You see – by now, he must have already killed all the men here in your building.”

Tom snorted. “Yeah, really?”

I blinked and slowly nodded. “Because Matthias belongs to the most dangerous Mafia in the world.”

Tom’s eyes slowly widened as he realized what I was saying.

“Matthias is the one person you won’t even dream of becoming enemies with.”

Tom froze and carefully turned around to see Matthias behind him, pointing a silencer straight into his head.

“Fucking bastard.” Matthias eyes were dimmed with danger and the instinct to kill. “You really think you can kill me, hmm?” He shifted the gun to Tom’s arm and shot it.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!” Tom dropped on the floor, clutching his bloody arm. “W-who the hell are you?!!!!” Tom shivered in fear when he saw Matthias’ face.

“Everything you said to me, I’ll return it back to you with interest.” Every word that came out of his mouth was pure threats.

Tom crawled away from Matthias and screamed when he shot his leg making him stumble back on the floor.

“You wanna know who I am?” Matthias walked towards Tom who was crying in fear. “I’m someone who’s very pissed off right now.” I slowly sat up and watched Matthias step on Tom’s wounded leg. His scream almost deafened me.

“BECAUSE.OF.WHAT.YOU.FUCKING.DID.TO. MY.EARL.”

He stepped even harder and I heard the squelching of blood and thought that it must have hurt like hell.

“Stoppppppp!” Tom begged but Matthias smirked at him.

“Stop? YOU WANT ME TO STOP?!” Matthias triggered the gun and pointed it on Tom’s kneecap. He shot it and Tom cried out loud.

“I won’t stop until you’re a flesh of bloody shit!! I’ll spit on your corpse and feed it to the dogs!” He repeatedly shot Tom’s leg and I cringed at every sound of the bullet hitting the flesh and his cries of pain.

“I’ll skin you alive, slowly, painfully! And I won’t even stop even if you’re not breathing anymore!! I’ll stab your heart, tear you insides out and– ”

Matthias abruptly stopped when I touched his rigid arm. He immediately looked at me and I saw a face of a cold killer. He dropped the gun and held his head.

“Fuck!!”

I looked at Tom who already passed out from all the blood loss.

“I’ll kill this piece of shit! I’ll kill him!!”

I pulled Matthias and hugged him. “Matthias. I’m so glad you came.” I sobbed on his chest. “I’m so glad.”

Matthias cursed again. “Shit. Shit shit shit.” He was trembling so hard it’s like he’s gonna gave a seizure.

I gasped when he suddenly punched his forehead. “FUCK!!”

“M-matthias?” He pauses for a moment before looking up to me. He took his black coat off and slung it on my shoulder.

Matthias bit his lip and pulled Tom by his hair. He dragged him out of the room and I followed him in spite of my weakened body.

Men wearing black suit approached Matthias and he threw Tom towards them. They kicked him before looking at each other.

I looked all around the room and saw lifeless body all over.

Once we arrived on the ground floor, some men from the Italian Mafia greeted him. He ignored them and proceeded to go out of the building. I stepped out as well and twitched when he suddenly turned around me. He gripped both of my shoulders.

“That’s why I told you it’s not safe to be with me! I knew it! I thought that – I thought that if I quit being an assassin, I can finally go back to you and live a normal life! But danger follows me everywhere!”

What did he just said?

“M-matthias, calm down. I’m fine…”

He glared at me and pulled my arm up. I looked at the fresh wounds and scowled. “Does this look like you’re alright?! That fucker raped you!! I can smell it even from here!!” His hand tightened around my wrist. “FUCK!! I promised not to kill anymore and yet –”

I smiled. “Geez, calm down, idiot. For the past five years, you still haven’t changed. You always think I don’t deserve you. Well guess what, I know from the very beginning that living a life with you is like walking on fire barefooted, but I’m still willing to do it.” I reached up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. “If it weren’t for you, I should have been dead by now.”

Matthias hugged me closer. “I’m sorry, Earl. I’m so sorry.”

“Thank you, Matthias. Thank you.”

“Are you sure you feeling okay?” Liza asked as she put down the pitcher of water on the table.

I smiled and nodded. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure. Don’t worry about it.” She looked over my arms that were covered in white bandages.

Liza smiled. “Good thing everything’s fine now.”

It’s been three days since the thing between Tom and I happened. The police of course, was not involved in the whole situation and only the Blaise family cleaned up the mess, just like always.

The door opened and I saw Matthias entering the room. He was wearing a white sleeveless shirt with a wool coat hanging loosely around his shoulders with matching black tight pants and black boots. Damn, why the hell does he look so cool? He’s just visiting someone in the hospital but it looks like he’s going to a freaking rock concert.

Liza blushed at his presence and quickly stood up from the stool she was sitting on. “Hi there!” She squeaked and I smiled at her childish behaviour.

“Yo.” Matthias shortly greeted. He looked at me and lowered his head in what, shame?

“I’ll be going then.” I heard Liza giggled before leaving the room. Matthias remained standing and I scrunched my face in amusement.

“What? You gonna stand there your whole life?” I asked sarcastically and he just glared at me.

“Shut up.” He slowly walked towards me and I froze when he leaned forward and kissed me on the lips. I closed my eyes and slung my hands around his neck to pull him closer.

God, I did really miss this guy.

Matthias groaned a little before pulling away. I moaned when he did and pouted at him. “I was having a good time.”

“You’re still sick.” Matthias reasoned out and I snorted.

“I’m not sick, Matthias. I’m just injured and I already told you hundreds of time that I’m going to be fine. Maybe tomorrow I can leave the hospital already…”

I stared at him when I saw him smile in relief. When he saw me looking at him, he suddenly glared. “What?” He snapped and I just laughed.

“Nothing. It looks weird to see you all worried.”

Matthias rolled his eyes. “Whatever.”

“By the way…about that thing that you said last time – about you not killing anymore…?” I started, hoping that he’ll pick up the conversation and explain it to me.

Matthias sat on the stool Liza was sitting a while ago and crossed his arms. “I told you I don’t kill people anymore. Those people back at the – ” He bit his lips and for a second, I saw that cold-hearted assassin look he had but he quickly masked it away before I could comment on it. “ – building that other night, I didn’t kill them.”

My eyes widened at what I said. “But they all looked dead.”

“That’s because I beat them into a pulp. Even now, they’re still not waking up.” He said and I’m aware he was not kidding.

“Wait, where are they again?”

Matthias smirked. “They’re under my old man. He said that he’ll take care of them.”

I gulped. If Matthias’ father the one handling them, they might not come out alive from where they were right now.

“And what about Tom?” His name felt bitter on my mouth.

Matthias’ eyes turned into rage and I saw him fist his hands. “Damascus took care of him. He’s my father’s right hand man.”

“Are they going to kill him?” I asked and Matthias shot me a glare.

“Why do you care?”

“I don’t. I’m just curious.”

“Well don’t be. I won’t let that bastard come near you even if he’s dead.” He threatened and I smiled at him. Somehow, I feel a little more important at what he said.

“Matthias.” I called and he looked up to me.

“What?”

I reached out to him and held his hand. “Can I ask you something?”

He blinked at me before tilting his head. “What?”

I grinned at him. “Will you go out with me?”

He snorted and pursed his lips. “Do you even have to ask that?”

We both laughed.
