Chapter Seven

It’s been three weeks since the incident about Tom and I happened. Everything was back to normal and as always, I’ve been stacked up with a lot of works because I missed a lot of it when I was still at the hospital. It turns out that the reason why Matthias was late to saving me because he had to deal with the executive president. He explained that Tom had it good in hiding and gave them a hard of time searching for him. The only person who knew Tom’s hide-out was the executive president but of course, he was ordered not to tell anything or he will be killed. But knowing the Mafia, they found a way to make him talk, their way.

I smiled when I finally finished the report I have to submit to the next meeting. I stood up and walked out of my office to take a break. Liza smiled at me and I nodded at her and proceeded to walk out. I arrived at the lobby and sat on one of the chairs to take a cig.

I glanced at my wrist and I can still see the marks of the handcuffs on it. I gulped and flashes of images from that time appeared in my mind. I bit my lips and closed my eyes to calm myself.

“You look like shit.” I looked up and gasped when I saw Matthias in front of me.

“Thanks.” I said sarcastically and he just shrugged his shoulders.

I blinked when I heard him cough silently. “Are you alright?”

Matthias smirked at me. “Yeah, like that’s gonna happen to me.” He walked away but stopped and turned around to face me. “Let’s eat dinner. Catch you later, nerd.”

I blushed and glared at his back. When I saw him disappeared at the corner, I broke into a smile and sighed.

Such a bastard.

Working hours finished and I was ready to go eat dinner with Matthias. I arranged my things and bid goodbye to Liza who said that she’ll be the one to clean up my office since she’s too happy that I have a date with Matthias.

I’m glad she’s rooting up for me but she’s kind of weird. I never knew homosexual love were famous within girls.

I walked out of the office and to the elevator. When I reached the ground floor, I looked around and saw no Matthias.

I sat on the sofa at the side and silently waited for him. It was already 8:09 and I’m getting really hungry.

I clicked my tongue and dialled his number on my phone. It took a few seconds before he finally answered it.

“Where are you? I’ve been waiting here for like…”

He coughed again and I creased my brows. “I’ll be right there. I just need to finish something.” He ended the call and I just stared at my phone. His voice was husky and dry. Don’t tell me he’s really sick.

Minutes passed again and finally, a pale Matthias appeared in front of me. His black coat was ridiculously wrapped around his body and he was wearing a black bonnet and a reading glasses.

“What happened?” I asked and he just ignored me.

“Let’s go.” Indeed, his voice was hoarse. I held his wrist to make him stop.

“You’re sick Matthias.” I said but he brushed it off by swatting my hand away.

“I’m fine, geez. Let’s go and eat. I’m starving.”

I glared at him. He’s acting just like Edward whenever he has colds when we were still young. Why the heck were they so stubborn into admitting that they’re sick?

I rolled my eyes and followed him to the parking lot. When we arrived, I looked behind and pursed my lips. He was walking in a wave and his eyes were heavy. He was breathing hard and its look he’s about to pass out anytime.

I jogged towards him and made him stop walking. “Matthias, seriously. You’re sick. Have you seen yourself? You can barely stand.” I said but he glared at me.

“I told you I’m fine.” He gritted out but I shook my head.

“I’m not an idiot. You have a cold. Come on, let’s go home.”

He gripped my hand and I almost winced in pain. For someone who’s ill, he’s still freakishly strong. “I’m FINE.” He pushed on.

“Damn you, Matthias.” I spat and he moved his eyes away from me.

He lowered his head and loosened his hold to me. “I want to eat dinner with you.”

“And I will. That’s why we’re going home, right?” I smiled at him and he pouted for a bit. I led him towards his car and when he was about to climb in the driver’s seat, I stopped him.

“Let me be the one to drive.” I said and he narrowed his eyes. I knew what he was thinking. Geez, of course I know how to drive. I just grabbed the car keys from him and sat on the driver’s seat. He went to sit on the passenger’s side and we pulled over to get on the road.

We arrived at his condo. I parked his car on the basement parking lot. When I turned the engine off and looked at him, I saw that he was sleeping and was breathing hard. I bit my lips and gently shook him to wake him up.

“Matthias…we’re here. Come on.” I helped him take his seatbelt off but he hurriedly did it for himself. We climbed out of the car and I’m not even locking it when Matthias dropped down on the floor. I quickly ran to his side and helped him to stand up.

“Matthias!” I called him and swiftly wrapped my arms around him to support him but he pushed me away.

“I’m fine! I don’t need your help!” He snapped and I was taken aback in what he said. I glared at him and released him.

“Okay. Let’s go.” I locked the car and walked to the elevator, leaving him walking alone.

I do want to help him so bad I might even carry him but his freaking ego was getting in the way. I don’t blame him. He’s supposed to be the strong one. The cool one. And being sick was not cool. At least in his dictionary that is.

It took him minutes before catching up to me. We rode the elevator and when it reached his floor, we stepped out. I watched him struggle to walk straight.

I fisted my hand when I noticed how red his face was. Damn. I stomped towards him, pulled his arm towards me and made him drop onto my back.

“What the fuck?!” He thrashed around but I kept him on place. I picked both of his long legs and guided them around my waist.

“Hold on to me.” I whispered.

“No fucking way! Put me down!” He thrashed again and I turned around to glare at him.

“Shut up, Matthias or else, I’m not gonna eat dinner with you!”

That made him quiet down and I smirked. “Just this once, I want to be the cool one.”

I heard Matthias snort. He slowly snaked his arms around my neck. “I’m gonna fuck you after dinner.”

I blushed and bit my lips. “A-as if you can do that.”

I put the plates on the sink and gasped when I felt Matthias behind me. I shivered when he nuzzled the side of my neck. His hands slowly crept underneath my shirt and I moaned when they found their way to my nipples.

“Earl.” He breathed out. His breath was incredibly hot and it reminded me that’s he’s sick.

“I-idiot.” I groaned when he pinched my nipples and rubbed it hard. “Y-you’re still sick.”

“Who cares about that? I want my desert now.” He bit my earlobes and sucked it while his hands were busy playing with my nipples.

I blinked when his hands stopped all of a sudden. I slowly turned around and saw how pale he was. His breathing got much worse, his face was flushed red and he was shivering.

I pulled away from him and felt his forehead. It was sizzling hot. “Matthias, you’re burning up!”

Matthias cracked a chuckle. “I know I’m hot.” He panted. “Fuck.” He put his hands on the counter to balance himself. I held his arm and guided him to his room.

I laid him down on the bed and covered him with the sheets. I quickly went out to find some medicines. When I didn’t find anything, I cursed. Looks like I really need to go down and buy from the drug store. But I don’t want to leave him here.

I walked back to his bedroom and saw him still shivering and breathing low. “Matthias, I’m just gonna buy some medicines. You’ll be fine here, right?”

Matthias cracked an eye open. “Y-you don’t need to buy it. I’ll be fine.”

I shook my head. “No, you look pretty bad.”

I grabbed my coat that was hanged on the sofa and walked out of his condo.

It was already midnight and Matthias’ fever still’s not going down. What can I do to make him feel more comfortable? I already put a fever patch on his forehead and made him drink some Ibuprofen but it’s still not working.

I watched him sleep and his face was still flushed.

“Matthias…what should I do?”

I leaned closer to his face and kissed his cheeks before holding his hand and squeezing it.

He shuffled underneath the sheets but remained sleeping.

I stayed still kneeling on the floor all the while holding his hand.

I laid my head down on the bed and sighed. “I hope you’ll get better tomorrow.”

It seems that I fell asleep and when I woke up, Matthias was still sleeping. I quickly checked his temperature with the thermometer. 38.0 c.

He still has a fever.

I took the cooling pad on his forehead and replaced it with a new one. I also wiped the sweat on his face and neck.

If only I knew what to do when you’re sick.

I gasped when I suddenly remembered someone. I scampered off to find Matthias’ phone and when I saw it, I quickly browsed through the contact names and finally found the person who probably knew all about Matthias.

I dialled Marge’s number and after a few rings, she answered. Her voice was still the same, sweet and strong.

“What’s up Matthias? Finally dead?” She asked and I forced a laugh.

“Hi there Marge. This is Earl. You still remember me?”

I heard some things knock over the other line and she huffed. “Earl? Earl like the Earl Harrison?!”

I rubbed the back of my head. “Ah yes.”

“Woah! Wait wait wait, why do you have Matthias’ phone?!” She paused for a second. “Aaaaaah, okaaaay. Nice one Earl. You’re finally living with my stupido brother eh?”

I blushed and shook my head. “No! I’m not living with him!”

“Okay, whatever. So, why’d you call? Did something happen?” She asked and I nodded.

“Yeah, you see Matthias is sick.” I informed and she laughed.

“Really now? That idiot is sick? Well that’s good. At least we know that he’s human.” She laughed heartily and even though I want to laugh with her, I can’t.

“So you’re calling me to know what you can do to make him feel better.” She asked.

I nodded again. “Yes. I really don’t know what to do anymore. I already made him – ” I stopped talking when Matthias moved from the bed but he remained sleeping. I lowered down my voice and continued. “ – I already made him drink some medicines but he’s still not getting any better. Actually, it looks like it’s getting worse.”

Marge chuckled sarcastically. “Medicines don’t work for that bastard. There’s only one solution to make him feel better again.” I heard her stood up from the chair. “I’ll come by to his apartment right now. Wait for me.”

She hanged up the phone and I smiled a little. She never really did change. She’s still the same Marge I knew. Even though we’re not that close, I can tell that she’s a good sister and she cares a lot for her brother.

I sat down on the couch near Matthias’ bed and sighed. I observed him, looking at his chest rising up and down with his ragged breathing. The room was already hot but if I turned on the AC, he’ll feel cold.

Moments later, the door opened and Marge came in to the room. She looked at me for a second before breaking into a grin and plunging towards me to give me a bear hug.

“I missed you Earl!

I tried to hug her back. “Hi there Marge.” I greeted. She pulled away and held my face.

“Wow! You’re so handsome now! Are you sure you’re the same Earl I met when you’re still young?!”

I nodded. “Yes. Yes I think so.”

“Anyway.” Marge looked away from me to look at her brother. She walked towards him and inspected him closer. “Woah, he really looks like shit.”

Marge smiled at me. “There’s a secret recipe my mother taught me when Matthias had a fever once.”

“Huh? What is it?”

She walked out of the room and went to the kitchen. She started cooking and I watched her from a distant.

A secret recipe that came from their mother? Then that must be the secret thing to make Matthias feel better.

Minutes passed and Marge came out of the kitchen holding a bowl of soup. She grinned at me before going to Matthias room and putting the soup down on the night table.

“Hey Earl, help me with this.” She said while guiding Matthias’ heavy body up. I ran towards her and held his back to make him steady. He stirred for a moment before looking at Marge.

“What the hell are you doing here?” He asked his sister and she just rolled her eyes.

“Just shut up and eat this.” Marge held up a spoon with the soup and led it to Matthias’ mouth. He barely opened his mouth and gulped the soup down. I watch him in anticipation.

Marge made her drink the soup again and later on, he finally finished the whole bowl. He leaned down on my arms and blinked before lifting up his arm. He pointed his hand in front of Marge and I gasped when he held out his middle finger.

She only snorted and slapped Matthias’ hand away. I made him lie down on the bed again and looked at Marge.

“What was that soup? He seems to like it?” I asked.

Marge smirked. “That’s a secret. He always feels better when mum made that soup when we were still kids.”

“Is Matthias always sick when he was just a kid?”

“Not sick – injured. He was always forced by dad to do all sort of things like training him how to hold a gun, or how to kill people. And whenever he cries and refuses him, he’ll just beat him into a pulp.” Marge informed. “There was one time when Matthias disobeyed dad by not killing this one person he was assigned to and he tortured him for days.”

I paled at what she said. His father did that to him even though he’s just a kid? “Seriously?”

“Yeah. Dad was a little harsh on him.” Little? That’s what you call little? That’s freaking abusing him. “He was raised to become an assassin and be the next boss of the Blaise family but you know Matthias. He’s a rebel. Once he decided not to do something, he’ll do anything not to do it. And that’s why dad always hurt Matthias.”

So that’s the reason why he hates his father so much.

“Don’t tell him that I said that. He hates it when people know anything about his past.” Marge winked.

Marge stood up and got her bag on the floor. “Well then, I’m off now. I still need to do something.” I walked her to the door.

“Thanks for everything, Marge.” I said and she grinned.

“Next time when you marry my brother, I’ll teach you the recipe to the soup.” She whispered and I blushed.

“T-there’s no way I’ll marry him!”

She laughed and trotted to the door. She waved a hand at me before disappearing. I walked back to Matthias’ room and sat down on the couch again.

I silently gasped when he opened his tired eyes and looked at me. “Earl?”

“Yes? What is it? Do you need something? Are you thirsty?” I asked and he just shook his head in all of that.

“Where’s Marge?” He asked.

“She just left.” I answered.

He stayed silent before huffing. He reached up to my face and caressed it. “I wanna fuck you.”

Anger slowly rose up my system and I glared at him. “You’re sick and that’s all you can think about, you moron!”

Matthias cracked a forced smile before coughing. “I do really want it.”

“Just get back to sleep.” I ordered but he pouted. Oh no, that’s not going to work, mister. “Go back to sleep.”

He just smirked and started to stroke my arm up and down. The action was slowly arousing me but I need to stop. It’s for his own good.

“Please, Earl.” He breathed out my name and something got tight below.

“No, Matthias. Stay still and just rest.”

I watched him in shock when he pulled the sheets off his body, got up from the bed and took his shirt off. He threw it on me before giving me a seductive smile.

“Come on Earl. I want you right now.”

I tried my best to stay my eyes away from that abs but I just can’t. I stared at it, faintly seeing it ripple against him while he breathes in and out. I looked up to his face and blushed even more when I saw how much he wants me right now. His eyes were clouded with lust, his lips were moist and his cheeks were light red.

“No.” I gritted my teeth and stood up. I stopped on my tracks when I saw Matthias’s hand touching his chest. He moaned a little when he played with his nipple and looked straight into my eyes, silently asking me to go and touch him.

I groaned.

Damn you, Matthias.

“Mhmmm.” I woke up and gasped when I realized I fell asleep. It was already morning and the sunlight was brimming.

“Matthias!” I called his name and looked over the bed. I paled when I saw that the bed was empty. I ran out of his room, not even bothering to cover my exposed body. I gasped when I saw that he was in the kitchen.

“Matthias!” I called again and ran towards him. He turned around, brows creased.

“What?” He asked while sipping his coffee. He was half-naked, his hair was messy and he smelled fresh out of the shower.

I broke out a smile and sighed in relief. “I’m glad you’re fine…”

Matthias smirked. “Yeah, thanks to you.” I blushed when I realized what he was talking about. He put his cup down and eyed me with a predatory look.

I gulped. “What?”

“Yesterday wasn’t enough. I still want you.” He said as he advanced towards me and licked my lips. I pulled back away from him and covered my mouth.

“I-I’m still not brushing my teeth!” I said and he just smirked it off.

“So?” He walked much closer, trapping me on one of the pillars. He put his arms above me and his smell was making me dizzy.

He smells so nice.

“I still have to thank you for taking care of me.” He whispered and I blushed even more. His voice was so sexy and it vibrates inside my ear, making me crave for more.

“Y-you don’t need to.” I said and lowered my head.

“You’re acting like the Earl I knew in high school.” He commented while nibbling my lower lip.

“Don’t like it?” I asked and looked up to meet his gaze.

“Are you kidding? I love it.” He grinned and in one swift move, I found myself already being carried by him. His arms were around my waist and my legs around his. I smiled shyly and bit my lips.

He closed the gap between us with a kiss. I tentatively wrapped my arms around his neck and held his head to deepen the kiss. It feels so good. Our tongues lashed together and we both moaned. We knew we both missed how to kiss like this.

We pulled away from each other and we stared at our eyes for a moment.

“God, you’re so sexy.” He said and I giggled.

“No, I was joking.”

“Is that sarcasm I’m hearing?”

I kissed him on the lips again and he smiled.

“I love you, Matthias.”

His smile turned into a grin. I grinned back and hugged him closer.

“I’m so stupidly in love with you, jerk.”

I kissed his ears and hugged him tight.

“Yeah, I love you too.”

I froze. I looked at him and his face was red.

“W-what did you just said?”

“Nothing. I didn’t say anything.”

I pouted. “You said something! Come on, tell me!”

“I didn’t say anything you idiot.”

“You did – ” I was cut off when he suddenly threw me on the sofa.

“Just shut up.”
