Chapter 13 - Tansi
Tansi kissed Cade on the cheek, then tried to sneak out of bed in the morning. It was extremely difficult, as she was lying on top of him, and his arms were wrapped around her. She wiggled a bit, and finally got out of his arms, then rolled until she was off his chest.
“What are you doing sweetheart,” he asked. She jumped, yelping as she turned to look up at him. He just smirked at her. “Trying to sneak out of bed already, and it’s our first night together. You know, it would work better if you weren’t banging my leg with that cast,” he told her.
She scowled at him. “First of all I wasn’t sneaking,” she declared. When he just raised his eyebrow, she gave in. “Fine, I was sneaking, but I had a good reason. I wanted to surprise you and the rest of the wolves with breakfast,” she admitted.
He gripped her then, hauling her back up on his chest. The next thing she knew, he smashed his lips against hers and kissed her until her toes curled. “Now that’s what I expect before you leave my bed in the morning,” he declared.
“Huh,” she said, still reeling from the kiss.
“That’s exactly the response I’m looking for,” he smirked. “Now we can get up. You can have the bathroom first, then we’ll both make breakfast for the wolves. While I’m here, you won’t have to do anything by yourself.”
When she just stared at him with love in her eyes, he swatted her bottom, causing her to yelp again. She moved then, jumping from the bed and dragging her leg in the direction of the bathroom. She sighed when he came up behind her and lifted her from the floor.
“I thought you weren’t supposed to walk on that leg,” he reprimanded her.
“Well I needed to move quick, and the cast slows me down,” she pouted.
He kissed her cheek, then she was carefully set down inside the bathroom. She turned, but he was too quick, disappearing and shutting the door behind him. She hurried through her morning routine, so she could head back out to him.
She dressed while he had a quick shower, then they headed to the kitchen together. He helped her gather everything from the fridge and cupboards, then they split the jobs and got to work. She made a ton of cinnamon rolls, then threw them in the oven and started on the eggs. He was already started on the ham and bacon, and had a pot of coffee on. They worked well together she thought.
The smell of the cooking food roused all the wolves, and soon the small kitchen was full. Brandon helped by setting the table, as she couldn’t carry the dishes, then he moved back out of her way. Once everything was ready, Cade made her sit, while him and his brothers carried all the food to the table.
The meal was quiet, except for a few moans at the taste of the food. She looked over at Cade, proud of what they had prepared, and he leaned over and squeezed her hand. She loved this, and hoped that when he moved in, they could do it a lot more.
Soon, it was time for the wolves to get back to work. She watched in silence, as they packed up and put everything in the SUV. There wasn’t a whole lot of food left, but she packaged it up anyway, making sure they took it with them.
Before they left, Cade took her aside so they could have a private goodbye. She immediately took the opportunity to tell him about Emmett. She knew that even though she felt nothing for the wolf, and had made her feelings clear, it was something Cade would want to know.
She was right. He got possessive, then told her not to worry. That made her worry, she didn’t know him well enough to figure out what he was going to do. But, she had a feeling that he would be visiting Emmett on the way out.
