Double Life

Summary

"I told you, you can't stop me." Silas said as he held up the detonator to the bombs placed around the school. "Not now. Not ever." Silas pushed the button and everything went up in flames. My name is Lialel, but I go by Lily. I'm 17 years old and I guess you could say I live a double life. During the day I attend Springfield High as a regular funny and kind school girl....well only if you don't get on my bad side. But at night, I'm an assassin killing targets of the russian mafia. Fun right? That's only the boring aspects of my life, throw in a sadistic ex boyfriend, more assassins, high school bitches, an adoptive family, and a close mafian family, and that pretty much sums up my glorious life.

Chapter 1

Moving, it can either be the worst or best thing to happen in your life. In my case, it is both good and bad. Good, because I’ll get to explore new areas, and bad, because I’ll have to go to a new school and make new friends all over again.

My name is Lialel, but my friends call me Lily. I am 17 years old with long fiery red/orange hair and brown eyes. A special fact about me, I am an assassin. My parents died when I was 4 and since then I’ve been stuck in foster care, but up until a few months ago, I was adopted by a mother and her daughter. We used to live in Texas, but we just moved to Springfield Illinois.

“Girls we’re here.”

I look out the window, with my headphones still in my ears, and see a large blue and white victorian house surrounded by flowers and two trees on each side of the house. If you want my honest opinion this house looks like a rainbow threw up on the front lawn.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned to see Harley motioning for me to take off my headphones.

“Yeah?”

“First one in the house gets to pick their room first.” Harley says holding her hand out for me to shake.

“Deal.” I say, taking her hand and shaking it.

“3...2....1”

And we both ripped open the car doors and bolted towards the houses front door. I beat Harley inside and started jumping up and down, waving my hands in the air.

“I win sucker!” I cheer.

“Yeah yeah, now go pick your room.” Harley says with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

I smiled, and went up to pick my room. I went down the hall and opened the last door on the left. It was a medium sized room with its own bathroom and walk in closet.

“Wow, nice room, but it could use some work.”

I look over and see Harley standing in the doorway with her arms crossed over her chest. Her blond hair was in a ponytail and she was wearing a camo t-shirt and jeans.

“Care to help me paint dear sister?” I ask holding up two paint brushes.

“Why else would I be here?” She says taking a brush.

We painted the walls dark red and the baseboards black. The bed was put in the corner close by the window and the bookshelf and desk were put across from it. We hid our weapons in the vent on the wall.

Let me give you a quick briefing of Harley. She has blond hair and blue eyes and is the daughter of Mrs. Callahan. When I was adopted Harley made me feel welcome, she is nice and caring. When I came she caught me sneaking out one night, so since then she has been helping me with my ‘special jobs’.

“Lily, Harley, could you both come down here please?” Mom yells from downstairs.

“Harley it’s a miracle! Your own mother wants to see your face!” I say in amazement.

“Shut up Lily.” Harley growls.

“Girls!”

“Coming!” We both yell.

We left my room, covered in paint, and went downstairs, were our mom was waiting.

“You summoned us?” Harley says raising an eyebrow.

“Yes, I did.” She began. “I invited our neighbors from across the street over for dinner.”

“What!” Harley and I yell in unison.

“Why?” Harley complains.

“Because then we can get to know our neighbors better.” Mom says.

“Question.” I say speaking up, “Do we have to stay down here when they arrive?”

“Yes, you do, and I want you both on your best behaviour, so that means Lily..”

“What!”

“No playing or purposely stabbing Harley.”

“Fine.” I sigh.

“And, Harley, no pranks.” Mom says emphasizing the word ‘pranks’.

“Yes mom.” Harley sighs.

“Good, now both of you, run along.” She says shooing us away.

Harley went to her room and I went into mine. I went into the bathroom and stripped out of my clothes. I hopped in the shower and let the hot water run down my shoulders and back. After what seemed liked an hour I shut off the water and wrapped a fluffy red towel around my body. I walked in front of the mirror and braided my hair, with it braided, I could see my tattoo on my right shoulder. I walked out of the bathroom and into the closet, taking the clothes on my dresser with me. I put on my dark red hoodie and leggings with my lace up boots, then went in front my mirror and put on some mascara.

Feeling good with what I did, I jumped on my bed and whipped out my phone.

“Lily I’ve got another target for you, well, more like targets. There’s a party that’s going to be held at the Matza Plaza at 9:30 p.m. tonight.” - A

“Thanks Azal, I’ll make sure the job gets done, by the way, how’s everyone doing over there? Miss your favorite captain yet?” - L

“Everyone’s doing okay, Carter’s being himself and Toby really misses you.” - A

“Aww I miss him too, I’ll try and visit as soon as I can.” -L

“Alright, till then, night Lily.” - A

“Night Azal.” - L

I turned off my phone and looked out my window, just as I did the doorbell rang, signaling that the neighbors have just arrived.
