Chapter 1

It was the 14th of March 2042 at the town hall of Chicago. Just two days ago the world witnessed a solar flare that would have destroyed the world. But the hero made the ultimate sacrifice by absorbing the flare. Even though he was pyro kinetic was too much and it killed him. Now he is about to have a city wide funeral because Chicago knew him more than anyone else.

Soon after, on board the freedom eagle head quarters of the international heroics. All the heroes where talking to one another of back fire's life and giving sympathies to Aeriea and Pyronight. Green beret walked up to them and said "I am very sorry for your lose Ryan was a good man and an inspiration to us all" "thank you Franklin you sympathies are much appreciated" said aria. Terminator walked up to the balcony that was looking over the rest of the bridge and activated the loud speakers and stated to make a big speech to all the heroes. "Ryan Davison was a great man, he always helped anyone he could, fought the fight no one would, and to all of us he was a friend to us all." He stepped down and gestured to Aeriea to come up and say some words about her husband. She came up to the balcony and said "thank you frank that was very touching. Ryan also known as Backfire to the world was a good friend, inspirational leader to the heroes, and a loving father, and husband. He always choose to make a stand even when he faced death itself, never gave into fear or anger, and always helped any one in need." She paused for a second trying to continue but just lost the will to finish and started to cry her daughter came up and helped her to calm down and walked her off the balcony. Terminator went back and told to give a toast to Backfire the greatest hero of them all.

Back in the main conference hall where the founding members usually meet to discuss important matters. as of right now Aeriea was sitting down crying over the lost of the one she loved and her daughter standing next to her giving her comfort. "it's ok mother" said Pyronight "dad wouldn't want you to get upset about this" Aeriea stopped for a moment and looked at her daughter strait in the eyes and said "it is just hard to accept that your father after dealing with so many problems that can kill him and yet it took just the power of the sun to finish him off". "I know mom but you know he wouldn't have taken the risk if their wasn't a good reason to." Aeriea paused then smiled and said "you are just like you father in many ways he is no doubt proud of you." Pyronight asked "do you know how it all started, the heroics, meeting you, how he became a hero?""as a matter of fact yes it stared many years ago I was still at paradise island at the time but the story I know well. It all started at the coasts of Chicago."

heavyreader: great scifi novels but needs a better spell checker (check auto-substitution level) and grammar checker!!! otherwise, ready for mass market publishing!!

Jasmine Chow: As I read this story, I was reminded some what of Terry Pratchett, especially some descriptions of politics and economics. The sci-fic setting is quite intriguing. Writing style is quite lovely and grew on me slowly. I was also slightly reminded of Mark Twain, especially his book A Connecticut Ya...

ElusiveBadwolf: I loved this book so much! It's a shame that i already came to the end of this. I really enjoyed the story, and i liked it how everything became in the end. It was a great book and i can say that you are a great writer too. Keep it that way and i think you can make it in the writing business!

taosgw74: If this is the authors first attempt at writing, I'm floored. I was engrossed in the plot from the get go.

kim: This is great! Maybe it could just be a little more specific. One of the keys to great writing is describing things in detail. I think you're off to a great start. I wish you much luck.

Dru83: This is perhaps my favorite part of the Olafson story just because it is here that were are introduced to his "gang". The characters are so diverse and complicated that each of them could just about spawn their own story. Eric's buddies are just so captivating and the plot just rolls along. Again...

Dru83: This is the second or third time I've read this one and I just love it. It has just about everything you could ever want packed into one scifi story. It still has some parts that are a little rough in terms of grammar, punctuation, and word usage, but it's still an awesome story. I love how detai...

re8622: The Last Exodus quickly grabbed my attention. Almost as soon as I started reading the story, I couldn't put it down. I found that the ideas the author put forth were very thought provoking given the turmoil we have seen gradually rise over the last several years. I felt that I could understand th...

Pablo Rojas: Love the story, at the end it is a western story, simple, yet giving hints and pieces of the situation that is happening all over ravencroft´s universe. easy to read and always keeping with the main stream story I want to keep reading about, Olafson´s adventures.

Like so boring that even some I skip through and after I do it has nothing to do with what they will next talk about in the story. My opinion is tha mabye the questions th...
