"Dinah why didn't you call me?" I asked, a hint of annoyance lingered in my tone. She glanced at me before resting her head on the back of her couch.

Rene and Felicity took Amiya to her room and played with her. Only so we could have a chat in peace but I liked their subtlety. "You were with Amiya and I didn't really want her home because I'm sick" she stated motioning to her child's room when she said her name.

"I understand D. I'm sorry but seriously though. What's up with you? You're acting really strange" I answered back. She looked at me. The same look from five years ago. The same look she had before telling me she wa-.

"D are yo-" my words dissipated into thin air. She nodded. She nodded before hugging me. She was so scared. I could tell.

She glanced up at me and said "I can't handle another one on my own"

I kissed her forehead and got up. It was getting late so I made dinner. Chicken burgers and peas. We all sat down to eat. No one talked. Not a word. Everyone finished so I did the dishes. Rene put Amiya to bed and Felicity wiped the table. Dinah thanked us all before getting up and going to bed.

We left in complete silence so we didn't wake the sleeping child or her beautiful mother. Once we were down the stairs, we started talking more than you could ever imagine.

When I got home, I crashed on the couch. I was too tired to go up stairs. What an eventful day.
