The Lab

Skylar Fletcher and Ariel Drozdova hurried across the room carrying boxes of chemicals. They were in Icedclock laboratories, the number one Psychological studies laboratory in the city, South City. "Skylar this is the definition of Dangerous!" Ariel said in a joking voice, Skylar rolled her eyes "that just makes it awesome!" She retorted. Ariel made a face "true that." She said. Ariel set down her box and grabbed the big bottle they had, the bottle that would hold their brilliant creation. Just then a loud BANG! Sounded from another room, it shook the floor, knocking the box out of Skylar's hands, the box landed on the floor, glass shattered, chemicals met other chemicals, and unknown substances were sprayed all over Skylar and Ariel. "GAH!" Skylar and Ariel cried together, pulling off their lab coats as fast as they could. Ariel grabbed some paper towels, handing some to Skylar "who knows what lethal mixtures we were exposed to?" Ariel said in a panicked voice, "I don't know!" Skylar exclaimed, just then smoke started pouring into the lab, slipping in the open door to the Applied Sciences Division, Skylar's first thought was why is that door open? It requires a passkey just to open and it stays closed unless there is someone walking through. But she didn't have time to worry about that now, she grabbed Ariel's wrist and bolted for the emergency exit. Once she was outside she leaned over the railing, trying to judge the distance. "It's too far to jump!" She said to Ariel, Ariel looked down, "then we just have to run down until it IS safe to jump!" She yelled, grabbing Skylar's arm, she ran down the steps as fast as she could, hearing fast footsteps behind her. The scientists from the lab were escaping! If there was a fire everyone needed to be safe! Skylar pulled free of Ariel "go!" She said loudly "I need to make sure everyone gets out safely! Go Ariel! GO!" Without waiting for a response she started running back up, when she got to the door she held it open for everyone, then once they all seemed to be out she ran back inside to make sure, then, the atmospheric pressure in the room dropped tremendously and the door leading to the Applied Sciences Division crumpled into a metal ball and smoke started coming in faster. Surprised that she wasn't crushed, she ran out the door and started running down the stairs, halfway down she found Ariel, waiting for her. "Skylar!" She cried "I was worried you weren't coming back!" She hugged her friend tightly "I'm fine!" She cried "now let's get out of he-" Skylar's sentence was broken off by a massive explosion, throwing Skylar and Ariel over the railing and onto the ground.

mray2174: I did like this story. I would totally recommend it to a friend, but it didn't seem like a book. Oh, d...

Ginger: I like the idea behind this; the idea and story itself are great, However, I'm finding typos periodically and some of the sentences could be worded a bit more clearly. You might want to 'show' a little more than you 'tell,'

aoifecollopy22: I loved how the author had the conflict come back later in the story. Also how they passed time without going over anything. That really helped move the story along. This kept my up for a few hours. YOU SHOULD READ THIS

aaron10905: This is undoubtedly one of the best books written on here. I actually unistalled this app until someone told me about this story. I came back not expecting much, just to be drawn into the story and the characters. I would buy this book in real life, as long as another was promised shortly after.
