Chapter 1

This is the story of how humanity was almost wiped from the earth by creatures that came back to life; creatures called zombies or the undead. It started small in a lab somewhere in New York; scientists created a evolving virus capable of mutations. They called it Z-TOLD, it was to be there greatest work but it turned out to be a failure. The tests brought back the dead, and mutated the cells of the Re-animated so they appered to be breathing and living, but they were still dead where it mattered most; the Brain!

The cells kept changing as time past; first they brought back the dead, then they changed the dead into diffrent forms; each stronger then the last and finaly they created HIVES an air-born form of the virus that was deadly to those that breathed it; for HIVES did not cause more zombies to rise, no it just killed and didn't stop until the host was dead. New York was sealed off; New York from then on was known as the Dead Zone. This is our history and this is my story I am Orion Marze and I am one of five humans still ALIVE!

mray2174: I did like this story. I would totally recommend it to a friend, but it didn't seem like a book. Your writing style reminded me of a fan fiction writer, always adding in tiny details and making things like "Oh, my name is [name that no one would ever name a child] and here is my life story. Oh, d...

AudreyInAshes: I think this book is a really great modern-age thriller. The idea of the drug and its symptoms were explained generously, and while I did really enjoy this I just want to add that there is some mild gore and the killing of a pet (sorry to spoil, but I like to be prepared.) It is very interesting,...

SeanSavage: Good plot that moves fairly quickly. Time passage somewhat vague. but not indecipherable. Very good syntax, grammar and punctuation. The story flowed very well, however, the breaks between chapters and the time jumps tended to be slightly confusing at first. I could see where the author was going...

Rita Kovács: It is a brilliant post-apocalyptic story, and there is a lot of work in it! Also, I'm really happy to see, it got published with all its seqences, because this story deserved it, it is wonderfully written, it's imaginative and original.

William Elliott Kern: John, first congratulations on submitting one of the best written and most creative stories of the civil war period...........This story takes place in the 1860's with an abusive Father against his new horse, later a rough patch with his Daughter Elizabeth. Nishant Jain: I felt as if i am watching a movie, not reading a book. The story was definitely interesting. It was more of action than horror for me. There are a few grammatical and spelling errors I came across and at times I found it difficult to imagine some things which the author is trying to convey, but o...

Jason Phang: I'm pretty new to Inkitt (this is only my 4th book) and I must say I've been thoroughly impressed by the quality of the authors here.
