Chapter 3

My alarm clock went off at exactly 7:00 A.M. the very next morning. I slept like a baby knowing that Billy Edwards was now behind bars and so was Johnny. Johnny is a good kid but he doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. It takes me about an hour to take a shower and get dressed, ready for another day at the P.C.P.D. I figure that today I would get something for breakfast along the way. Also I had just enough time to set up my DVR to record a brand new episode of my favorite 70′s cop show called ‘Vincent & Lance’ while I am at work. I’ve been watching it ever since I came back from Pinesberry so it was a brand new show and I’m already hooked on it. Upon approaching my door, I heard what sounded like tires squealing away. I opened the door as a school bus was just driving away. Next door to me was a teenage boy running out his door trying to catch the bus.

“NO WAIT!” He shouted. But the school bus was long gone.

“Morning!” I said to him as I waved.

“Missed the bus again?” He was around eighteen years old and had black hair with red streaks. Always wearing that green leather jacket. Thankfully it wasn’t the Summer season or he would be melting in that jacket.

“Hey Mr. Wydock! Yeah I over-slept. My stupid alarm died on me.”

“Come on, I’ll give you a lift.” I said beckoning with my head.

“Thanks Michael, you’re a lifesaver dude.” Drake Fires was his name. I watched over him after his mother died a few months back. He came sprinting across the yard as he threw his backpack in and got into the passenger seat. I started up the car and I pulled out of my drive-way. Drake was a good kid and an excellent student. Always getting straight A’s in his class. He’s one of the smartest kids I know, I’m so proud of him. Maybe one day, he’ll join the P.C.P.D. as a forensics guy, who knows? He was like a son to me.

Meanwhile in another part of the city, the ‘Dragon Skullz’ gang headed back to their base on their Harley Davidson’s. Their base was an old abandoned auto body shop. They’ve parked their bikes into the garage. Within the building itself was a pool table in the back corner and an air hockey table beside it. Vending machines were lined up beside the side walls. A worn out leather couch sat in the back with a flat screen TV mounted on the wall and a video game consule hooked up to it. A pack of metal stairs leading up to a catwalk that lead to the upstairs office where the leader of the gang would watch over everything. But with Johnny now behind bars, the gang had no boss, no leader. They would argue amongst themselves who would lead them during Johnny’s absence.

“Alright listen up! During the boss’s absence, I’m in charge!”

“Oh fuck off! If anyone’s in charge, it should be me! I’ve got the brains!”

“Oh please, you can’t even tell a hooker from a hobo! Let me lead the pack!”

“HEY! I’m the muscle here!”

“Yeah, all muscle and no brain!”

“What was that little man?” The bulking behemoth of a man towered over the scrawny man as he looked up at him.

“You’ve heard me nut brain! You have the smarts of a five year old!”

“Oh you’ve done did it now boy!” He picked up the scrawny man as if he was lifting up a weight.

“Hey, put me down you fuck tard!”

“Hey look, I found a dumb bell, HA!” A gun fired off a round into the air inside of the building. Everyone jolted as they looked back. The man who fired the gun stepped out of the shadows wearing the same silver skull mask from earlier. He was accompanied by two others. To his right was a sharp dressed assassin in purple wearing a black mask. And to his left was a familiar face wearing black and a plague doctor mask, Dr. Victor Lazarus.

“Who the hell are you three?” Questioned the big guy as he put the scrawny man down. The man with the silver skull mask walked into the middle of the crowd as he speaks up.

“My name is not important right now, but you can call me boss from now on because I am taking over this operation!”

“Who the hell do you think you are!?” Said the big man as he puts his hand on Silver Skulls shoulder. He looks at the man’s hand.

“I wouldn’t do that.” Just as Silver Skull says that, a huge hulking man who was twice his size stepped out of the shadow wearing a closed trench coat and fedora. The hulking man’s skin was a greyish texture and his mouth was covered up by flesh. The big guy let go of Silver Skulls shoulder as he backs up.

“That’s better. Know your place! This is my personal bodyguard, Double XX. He has a really short temper. If I were you, I wouldn’t piss him off.” He turns back and address’s the crowd.

“Like I said, I am taking over this operation! Who is the brains of this gang?” The scrawny man approached him.

“I am.” Silver Skull turns to him.

“Tell me, what do you know about bomb making?”

“Bombs?” Said another man from behind.

“We deal in drugs, not weapons so just fu....” Before the man could finish his sentence, Silver Skull pulled out his gun and shot the man without looking at him and with no remorse or sympathy. The man looked at his wound as the blood dripped on his fingers before falling to the ground. The others were terrified and shocked. This Silver Skull guy meant business.

“Bomb making, now!”

“I know a ton sir!” The Silver Skull grinned behind his mask.

“Good.” He turns back towards the crowd.

“From now on, this will be a weapons dealer, got it!?” Everyone else did not say a word. They just nodded their heads in fear and terror.

“Well, what are you all standing around for? Get going!” Not wanting to end up like their dead friend, the gang went straight to work. The Silver Skull walked up to the scrawny man.

“I want my bombs.” The man nodded as Silver Skull gave off a smirk behind his mask.

Detective Wydock’s cuda pulled up and parked on the side of the road across from ‘King Darkoss High’. Both him and Drake got out of the car. Drake grabs his backpack from the seat. In the schools yard were all of Drake’s fellow students including his high school love Alison Embers.

“It seems we’re a bit early then I thought. Thanks for the ride Michael.” He smiled at Drake and patted him on the back. But before he got back into his car, someone had caught his attention. Sitting on a bench under a shady oak tree was the most beautiful woman that he has ever seen. Long pitch black hair and purple eyes. She wore just a white buttoned up polo and a long black skirt. Sitting while reading a book. His jaw slightly dropped at the sight of her. At first glance, he knew he had to go talk to her.

“Who is that angel?” Drake saw the woman that Detective Wydock was seeing.

“Oh, that’s Ms. Koruka Yumi Tenchi. She’s my history teacher.”

“I see.” Drake knew his look all too well.

“You like her don’t you? She’s single. Come on, I’ll introduce you. Unless you don’t have the balls.” He joked. Michael looked at him.

“Now listen, I’ll have you know that I was hot shit back in high school.”

“Alright then ‘hot shit’, let’s see what you’ve got.” He laughed. Drake went over to Ms. Tenchi as Michael soon followed.

“Ms. Tenchi?” She looks up.

“Drake, you were not on the bus this morning.”

“My neighbor gave me a lift. This is Michael.” He lended out his hand to Koruka as she shook his hand.

“You’re Detective Wydock. I’ve heard so much about you. It’s nice to finally meet you.”

“Likewise.” He smiled. She noticed the car as she pointed.

“Is that your car?”

“Yes it is.” She walked over to the car as he and Drake followed.

“I haven’t seen a car like this in ages. It’s beautiful.”

“You’re beautiful.” He complimented her. She stared up at Michael, smiling and blushing.

“Thanks.” He put his hand on the side mirror of his car. The side mirror broke off as he fell flat on his side. But he got right back up.

“If you like, I would love to give you a ride. I’ll even treat to a movie and dinner.” She blushed again as she flourishes he long jet black hair. She stared at him with those sparkling purple eyes and smiled so brightly.

“Sounds like you’re asking me out on a date Mr. Wydock.”

“Well maybe I am. I...I mean if that’s alright with you.”

“Well I maybe able tonight at seven.”

“Tonight at seven, sounds good to me.” Michael’s radio went off in the car. It said that something happened down at the P.C.P.D. and that he was needed right away. The school bell had rung.

“Well see you tonight Detective.” She turned and smiled at him.

“I’ll see you in class Drake.” She walked away, looking back as she smiled and waved playfully at Michael. He waved back and smiled. Drake looked up at him.

“God you work fast. Well don’t wanna be late.” Drake took off as Michael turned and got back into his car. Michael answered his radio.

“This is Detective Wydock, I’m on my way.” He hung up the radio and drove away leaving King Darkoss High in the distance.
