“Detective Wydock is getting too close. He’s already passed two of my tests faster then I thought he would. Perhaps I’ve underestimated him. But the third test he will fail, I assure you father.” A mysterious man stood in the shadows of the Dragon Skullz hideout. It seemed that Silver Skull was either taking orders from him or he was working with him.
“Indeed.” Said the mysterious man.
“Do not fear. The bodyguard I assigned to you will make short work of our detective friend. Once he is dealt with, then no one will stand in our way!” The scrawny man who Silver Skull put in charge of making his bombs approached him. He informed Silver Skull that his bombs were ready. But what was he planning on using them for anyway? What was he going to blow up?
“It is time.” He said. Bron stood on the catwalk above the others as Silver Skull and the mysterious man left. Bron didn’t like this one bit, he knew something was up. Something sinister was brewing. When the coast was clear, Bron sneaked into Silver Skulls office. The door to his office was locked so he used a pick on the lock and got in. There on his desk were blue prints of a building. Bron leaned in and realized that the blue prints were of King Darkoss High. His eyes widen at the thought.
“Finding anything interesting?” Silver Skull said from behind. Bron turned quickly to face him.
“You monster! You plan to blow up King Darkoss High? Hundreds of teens will die!”
“Do I look like I give a damn?”
“We Dragon Skullz maybe criminals but we ain’t killers! You’ve gone too far this time! I can’t be a part of this!” Silver Skull sighed as he pulled out a gun.
“I thought as much Bron. You were always too soft.” As Silver Skull readied his shot, Bron grabbed a lamp from his desk and chucked it at him. Silver Skull shielded himself as Bron ran right past him. Skull tried to shoot him from the catwalk but Bron was too quick. He may have been a big guy but he was quick for a man his size.
“STOP HIM!” The garage doors of the hideout came down. But Bron slide under the shutters as if he was making a home run. The shutters were closed as Bron made his escape. Bron thought that he was in the home stretch until someone else shoulder rushed him, someone who was bigger then he was. Bron was sent flying into a brick wall nearly breaking through it. Bron saw the person who shoulder rushed him. It was Silver Skull’s bodyguard Double X.X. The same monster that Detective Wydock ran over with the truck back at the abandon toy factory. Even a truck wasn’t enough to stop this monster. He picked up a brick and bashed it onto Bron’s head knocking him out.
I laid there in the comfort of my bed topless. My nose had picked up a delicious scent in the air. I opened my eyes.
“Eggs?” I said sitting up in the bed.
“Bacon...?” I shot out of bed as I looked over at my alarm clock. It was 8:00 A.M. on a Monday. I put on some fresh clothes and rushed downstairs as if it was Christmas morning, Christmas in Spring. But instead of presents underneath a tree, I was greeted by Koruka in the kitchen making breakfast.
“Morning.” She giggled wearing nothing but one of my shirts and no pants, only panties.
“I hope you don’t mind me wearing one of your shirts.” I walked up to her as I hugged her from behind and kissed her neck. She looked at me and smiled as she giggled. I smile back as the warm scent of the eggs crept up my nose.
“Nah, I don’t mind at all. That smalls really good by the way.”
“Thanks. How do you like your eggs?”
“Scrambled.” I told her.
“Oh, I also made some coffee if you want some.” Eggs, Bacon and coffee? This girl defiantly is the woman of my dreams.
“I’d love some.” I walked over to the cabinet as I grabbed two mugs and poured the two of us some coffee. I sat at the kitchen table as I placed the filled mugs down. She placed the finished eggs and four strips of bacon onto our plates and took a seat across from me. Two strips of bacon for each of us. I took a spoon full of eggs as I the taste blew me away. The taste of these eggs was truly outstanding, unbelievable. My taste buds were in heaven when I took that first bite. The right amount of salt and pepper sprinkled on every square inch. And the bacon, the bacon was to die for. Such amazing cooking skills, simply amazing. Fireworks went off inside my head.
“Oh my god! This cooking is really amazing Koruka!” I cried out with glee. She giggled and blushed.
“Why thank you. I’m so glad you’re enjoying my cooking.”
“I’m really enjoying it.” I said with my mouth full of those eggs showing off my bad table manners. My mom taught me better not to talk with my mouth full but I just couldn’t help myself.
“Where did you learn how to cook so well?”
“Back in my home in Japan. I learned to cook when I was ten.”
“Well, this doesn’t taste like experience. This tastes like perfection. You nailed it Koruka.” She blushed again.
“With cooking skills like this, you could be a head chef at a five star restaurant.”
“Too much work and pressure. Besides, I like my job. Being able to teach students many different cultures. You know Drake Fires right? He’s one of my top students, always eager to learn.”
“Ah yes, Drake. He’s my neighbor actually. He’s a good kid, really smart too. One of the smartest people I know. I watch over him ever since his mom passed away. I was there when she died. I promised her I would watch over her boy. But.... I can’t shake this feeling that he’s hiding something. My gut tells me that he has a secret that he’s not telling me.”
“Maybe he’s a secret government agent.” She joked. I looked at her and laughed.
“Come on, he may be smart but I doubt he’s THAT smart.” She laughed with me. The sound of her laughter was like music to my ears. It was both playful and cheerful. I just can’t get enough of it. The perfect laughter to go with that perfect smile. She was like a dream come true, and it wasn’t all because of last night in bed. No, the last few hours I’ve spent with her was incredible. But I could sense that she was also hiding something deep within her. It seemed that everyone I meet has something hiding in the dark. But you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. But unlike her and Drake, it’s B. Carpenter I’m worried about the most, my other neighbor. Something about him just screams danger. He says that he’s an accountant but my gut says that he is lying about his job and I want to know what he really does. Maybe I should pay him a visit sometime. My phone, I heard it buzzing. I must’ve left it in the living room. I got up from the chair and walked into the living room where my phone sat on the end table next to the couch.
“Hello?” I answered. It was the chief telling me that the results of that poison that killed Billy came in.
“Okay, I’ll be right there.” I hung up the phone and turned to Koruka.
“Come on, I’ll drive you to work.” I grabbed my coat and hat.
“Work? Oh shit!” She realized.
“I thought today was Sunday. I’m late!” She panicked.
“Calm down Koruka. I’ll drop you off on my way to work no worries.” She smiled as she walked with me out the door. I locked the front door. As I turned, I saw B. Carpenter waving to me and carrying a brief case. Something was sticking out of his brief case again. It looked to be a piece of purple cloth. My suspicions grew more as I squinted my eyes at him. He turned acting like nothing happened. He got into his car as I watched him pull out. He is defiantly hiding something. I can sense it.
“Michael, aren’t you coming?” I looked at her as I approached my car.
“Oh yes. Sorry about that. I was just thinking.”
“Thinking about what?” She asked me and I paused for a moment.
“It’s nothing.” She and I got into the car and drove off but not before putting on our seatbelts. We drove a few miles until we pulled up in front of King Darkoss High. She thanked me for the drive as she reached over and kissed me. I return the kiss before she grabbed her bag and left the car. I watched her go up the stairs and into the building. After seeing that she got in safe, I was off to my job. The P.C.P.D. building maybe be burnt down but we always had a backup building just in case. It would take a while for the original building to be rebuilt. We had our spare office in New Town which was on the west side of the city. I parked my car and got out. I walked in as the chief greeted me.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Check this out. So that poison that we thought killed Billy wasn’t really poison.”
“Come again?” I raised an eyebrow in suspicion.
“Turns out Billy was shot by a drug that shuts down ones system giving off the illusion of death.”
“So Billie’s not dead. And you had your boys haul his body to the morgue. And before the undertaker could perform the autopsy, he woke up and escaped the morgue but not the building. He disguised himself as a police officer which led to you all being tied up. This was all put of Silver Skulls twisted game plan.”
“I see Wydock. Silver Skull said before that one of us is an imposter. Which means....”
“...Which means that one of our men is Billy.
“Question is which one?” I thought about it, about how we can find which one of our men is Billy. And then it dawned on me. I kicked him pretty hard in the face earlier when I arrested him. He should still have a faint scar on the left side of his face. We find the officer with that same scar, we find Billy. I’ve asked the officers to line up accordingly. They’ve complied and did as instructed. I’ve examined their faces carefully as I squinted my eyes. And also Billy had green eyes which none of the other officers have aside from my partner. It wasn’t until the sixth officer I’ve checked that matched Billie's profile. I have found him. Billy quickly reached for the officer next to him and pulled out his gun. He had him in a choke hold with the gun pointed toward his head as he backed away.
“Looks like you’ve found me Detective. Well done, you’ve past ‘his’ second test.”
“Put the gun down Billy!” He laughed.
“Now why the hell would I do something like that? If you take one step closer Wycock! Then you’ll be responsible for this officer’s brains being splattered all over the pavement!” He laughed again. And that wasn’t the first time someone insulted my name like that. I remember back in that town a certain ‘Judge’ insulted me like that before. My partner snuck up behind him and disarmed him, giving me the chance to tackle him down. I slapped the cuffs on Billy once again. I picked him up as he turned his head and grunted at me.
“You think you can keep me locked up again?” The chief approached us. Billy faces him. He orders Billy to be stripped out of the dead officers uniform before being thrown in for questioning. He’s staining it, disrespecting the officer that he’s killed by wearing his uniform.
“Get him out of my sight Wydock. And have him take that uniform off!”
“Yes sir.” I pushed Billy to move. I think the next step would be to find out who made the drug. Whoever made it is clearly working with both ‘The Shadow’ and Silver Skull, I’ll make him talk. Billy will lead me to whoever made the drug, they will lead me to ‘The Shadow’ and then he would lead me straight to Silver Skull himself. I am so close to finally catching him. His sick twisted ‘game’ will end soon.
