Chapter 38

I woke up the next morning and went into the kitchen to get something to eat. The rest of Alessandro's men were already in there eating. I looked around and thankfully didn't see Draven, I don't feel like dealing with his death glares today.

As I finished filling a glass with orange juice I turned around and bumped into someone, spilling my juice all over them.

"Watch where you're going!" A deep voice snapped. I looked up to see the devil himself, Draven. I just rolled my eyes and put the glass down.

"Fuck you, you deserved it anyways." I snapped back crossing my arms over my chest. I could see the anger raging in his eyes which caused a smirk to form on my face knowing I've hit a nerve.

"Watch it Roxy, you've already caused enough trouble. I don't want to deal with anymore from you." He snapped. Caused enough? I haven't been here that long and the only issues I caused was the first few days. I shot him a glare for trying to blame me for no reason. "Just fucking move and stay out of my way." He spoke dryly walking right past me, bumping into my shoulder.

"Bitch," I huffed before walking back to my room. I heard footsteps starting to trail behind me but they stopped when a voice boomed through the kitchen.

"Draven, my office, now!" Alessandro spoke loud and sternly at Draven. I turned and see Draven giving me his normal death glare and clenching his jaw. I turned again to see Alessandro staring right at Draven with a glare, his stance is intimidating. I just rolled my eyes and walked off to my room.

A couple hours have past and I've just laid in my bed most of the day besides the few times I got up to eat something. Thankfully each time I went out I didn't have to cross him.

I had just gotten out of the shower and changed into a large t-shirt and short. I opened my bathroom door to let some of the steam roll out and clear up the mirror. There was a knock on the door. I groaned not really wanting to be bothered.

"Come in." I said sounding uninterested, maybe they'll just go away. The door ended up slowly opening. I turned to see the devil himself standing at the door way of my bathroom. I faced forward again, continuing to brush my hair. "What do you want?" I asked coldly.

"Can we talk?" Draven spoke with a calm tone for once. I walked past him out fo the bathroom turning the light off. I walked over to my bed and sat down. He was still standing by the bathroom door giving me a confused look.

"Sit." I stated pointing at the spot next to me on the bed. He slowly walked over and gently sat down, he just looked down at the ground. "What do you want to talk about?" I tried really hard to sound interested, but it was hard since I clearly didn't like him, no matter how attractive he is.

"I'm sorry.." My stern facial expression quickly changed to confusion. What the hell?

"For everything, there was just something's that happened a few years ago... that I guess has just caused me to hate you." He spoke, still looking at the ground.

"What things?" I wasn't going to ask, but I really want to know.

"I was there during your accident... the car accident." He inhaled deeply like he's nervous to continue. "You were the only one I hadn't raced against. The guy that crashed into you, was targeting me. At least that's what we're thinking." He took a quick glance at me and immediately turned his gaze back to the ground.

"He was a part of another mafia. I was a part of the crash too and ended up in the hospital. When Alessandro came and checked up on me, all he could do was bring you up. He also found out I was illegally racing behind his back. I could've lost my job here." He took another breath. I continued to stare at him in shock, he hasn't taken another glance at me yet.

" I didn't know your condition and at the time I didn't care. I was just mad that I almost lost my job. I just ended up putting the blame on you because you were, most of the time, the main point of everything. It's like everything that was going wrong, you were involved in." He finally turned his gaze up to me, this time holding it. His eyes were full of guilt.

"I'm sorry Roxy, I am so sorry. I should have never blamed you. I let my anger get in the way and I tend to blame whoever comes to mind first. I shouldn't have." His words were sincere. Guilt still written all over his face. I haven't been good with emotions since that accident, but I still try.

The first thing that came to mind is to hug him, I've never been much of a hugger, but I don't know how else to show him that I forgive him. I tried to speak but words weren't forming. I got up on my knees on my bed and leaned in and hugged him. He froze at first, knowing he was uncomfortable I tried to pull away, but he quickly wrapped his armed around my small frame and hugged me back.

The hug was short lived. We pulled away from each other, there was something weird about that hug, something I haven't felt before. I quickly brushed it off and sat back down on my spot on the bed.

"So what happened to that guy?" I asked. I noticed Draven tense up.

"Alessandro and I tracked him down, brought him here and killed him in the basement." He slowly looked into my eyes. "Oh my god." He said rubbing his face with his hands.

"What?" I asked. Did I do something? Is there something on my face?

"Nothing, it's just, you have that same exact spark in your eyes that your brother does when speaking of killing someone or actually killing someone." He said shaking his head. I found myself laughing dryly at that. It threw me off guard at first, but it didn't really bother me. I mean my brother is ruthless, it also runs in the family. Of course I'd end up the same way.

"You know, I've always been jealous of the mustang you've got." Draven state's, changing the subject. I gave him a weird look for his sudden change in subject. I heard a low chuckle come from him. "Your car is in the garage, did you not know?" I just shook my head no. Draven gave me a confused look.

"Oh well, you can drive me around sometime. I want to see if you still got it." He said with a wink. "We have training tomorrow though"

"See if I still got it? What training?" I was never informed on any training tomorrow.

"Yea, Alessandro wanted me to tell you, you start training tomorrow. If you're going to be in a mafia you have to train to handle being in on. Get you some rest, you'll need it." That was the last thing Draven said before walking out the door.

I finished getting ready for bed and decided to get some sleep.
