Chapter 16

Killian’s Point of View

I noticed that Sutton had waited for everyone to leave before she walked up to me. I know almost everything about her being the Moon Goddesses daughter and that she is a rare white wolf. From what I understand most of her pack does not know anything about this.

“Killian?” She says softly.

“Yeah” I look at her with soft eyes.

“Why did you offer to be my ‘personal bodyguard’? I feel like that is too much to ask of you considering you are the future king.”

Thinking about what she just asked me I can’t just come out and say that she is my mate. I think her wolf my know and isn’t telling her. I wish Kian could talk to Mae but without her being apart of my pack or mated to me yet I know that they cannot communicate. So, I decide to tell her half the truth.

“Honestly, because I don’t want to see any harm come to you. I feel like you are going to be a great Alpha when the time comes.”

“Oh.” Is all she can manage to say.

“Well, are you ready to race back to the packhouse. I know Kian is going crazy.”

Sutton’s Point of View

“Yeah. I’m going to go behind that tree over there and shift.” I tell him. I don’t know any other wolf that can shift fully clothed and not rip their clothing to shreds. I’ve been able to shift and keep my clothing intact since I first shifted.

“I’m going to stay right here and shift. I’m not too worried about my clothing honestly. I’m more concerned with getting you back to the packhouse. I’ll link Hunter to leave some clothing on the front steps for me.”

“Can I tell you a secret that not even my parents know?” I ask him.

“Yeah, whatever it is you can trust me. I want you to know you can tell me anything and I promise I will not judge you for it.” He tries to reassure me.

Hearing Killian tell me that I can trust him is a little comforting to say the least. “Mae?”

“Yes Sutton?’ She responds.

“What do you think? Can wee trust him?” I ask her.

“Yes, we can. I talked to Kian and he said that Killian is being honest with you about you being able to trust him.” She tells me.

“Wait, when did you talk to his wolf? We’re not in the same pack and we’re not mated to him, how is that even possible?” I asked completely confused. I didn’t know she could do that.

“All I’m going to say is it is one of our powers to be able to talk with any wolf bond or not.” She finally lets me know.

I take a deep breath trying to calm myself down. I know Killian knows a lot about me because he was a part of the meeting. But letting someone who is not Remi or my parents see Mae and be let in on my secrets is hard and scary.

I take a step back from him thinking it’ll just be easier to show him. Remi and my parents are the only ones who know I can shift to and from Mae still clothed. I can see the confused looked on his face and I’m doing everything I can not to giggle at him because it’s kinda cute.

“Here goes nothing.” I tell him.

Killian’s Point of View

“Dude Mae just talk to me.” I hear Kian tell me.

“How is that possible she not part of our pack and there is no bond between us?” I respond to him.

“I have no fucking idea but all I know is I can’t wait to see Mae. You my friend are going to be surprised.” He informs me.

“What the fuck dude, why just tell me”

“Because I don’t want to.”

“You know you’re an asshole, right?”

“Yup and so are you.” He says before shutting me out, stupid pain in the ass wolf.

Standing here watching Sutton take a step back form me has me all sorts of confused. Kian won’t respond to me and I don’t know why. I can tell she is holding back a giggle at the confused look that is plaster all over my face.

She starts to shift without going behind and tree and stripping. It’s not uncommon to find shredded clothing laying around pack lands but to watch that her clothes did not shred into pieces has me wondering wat is going on.

She’s just sitting here in front of me and her wolf is absolutely gorgeous. She has a crescent moon and three stars on her right shoulder blade. Streaks of silver can be seen in her fur with how the sunlight is hitting her.

Suddenly she shifts back and she is still fully clothed. How did she not shred her clothing? I didn’t think that was even possible, but she just proved me wrong. I know I’m standing here with a stupid look on my face but I honestly can’t help it.

“How is it even possible that you shifted and you are still fully dressed? I didn’t think anyone could do that!” I state out loud.

“Honestly, I don’t know. I’ve been able to shift fully clothed since my first shift at seven. Some times it comes in handy. I go through a lot less clothing.” She admits with the cutest giggle ever.

“That is amazing. Is there anything else I should know about you or your wolf?” I ask genuinely curious.

“Well, Mae can communicate with any wolf she wants to. She doesn’t need the bond of a pack or a mate bond. You are the first to know this, because I just found out within the last hour. Apparently, she was communicating with Kian” She informs me.

I’m still just standing here completely amazed and dumbfounded by everything she just showed me and told me. Kian can’t wait to go for a run with her. This is hands down the most beautiful woman and wolf that I have ever laid my eyes on.
