Samantha "Sammy" Reader was your average, everyday, nerdy teenage girl interning at Newman's Chemical in Carson City, Nevada until she was injected with an experimental serum meant to save her life. Now, with the power to run at extreme speed, Sammy must learn find her inner-hero if she want to save the city from the wrath of "The Noose".

Prologue

Things happen. Maybe they happen for a reason. Maybe they just happen, for no reason whatsoever. The point is, things happen. Maybe we have control over what happen. Maybe we don’t. What we do have control over is what happen next. If something bad happen, we can’t let that one bad thing control our life. We can either just ignore it. Or embrace it. That’s what I choose to do when something bad happen to me. I got fast. Very, very, very fast.

My name is Samantha Sammy Reader. To the rest of Carson City, Nevada, I’m just your everyday, average, nerdy teenage girl. To my closest and dearest friend, however, I am Red Lightning. A legend. And this is how it all started.

ga1984: I really enjoyed it! Characters were deep and plot was pretty complex. A bit on the violent side but it doesnt detract from the story. Very dark but situations make sense. Ends kinda abruptly and later chapters will need some editing work. I'm assuming there's more in the works?

Roger A. Fauble: Excellent read, the only thing not to like is that I could only read it at home on my computer. I'm a character reader, I get into the characters, their story, who/what they are. In this story characters are introduced and developed allowing you to really get into them. Next the story is develop...

Warchief: The biggest problem with the Harry Potter series is that it's all from his point of view. So we never really get to see or understand events from other peoples perspective. I think that they would be more than a few people that want to know what happened at Hogwarts during that last year.As far a...

Guywithgunz: Vanessa's saga has been an ongoing labor of love for the author and her core gp of fans. The saga as a whole is a must read for fans of Adventure / SciFi stories. The uploads here are in need of a final look by an editor for the spelling and grammatical errors that have crept in somehow into the f...

hypaalicious: This story follows two main characters, Zoey and Derek, on a winding adventure that sucks you in from the beginning. It was easy to get into and get a feel for the world that the author is projecting, as well as all of the warring factions and difference of ideals that would otherwise be very co...

LeoDuhVinci: Absolutely loved this story. I'm a sucker for Sci Fi and Forever Roman knocks it out of the park. Tiffany Thomson: This story is not something I would normally pick up and read but I'm so glad I did, I wasn't able to put it down and my husband was yelling at me at 3am to put it down and go to bed (just waited for him to doze back off before picking it back up) I really hope Natalie brings out another book eit...

Leah Brown: This was an amazing read! I was hooked from the very first chapter, holding my breadth to see what would happen next. The characters are rich and vibrant, and the world Danielle has created is fascinating. If you love YA, you MUST read this book. Such a smart, brilliant debut novel. I loved it!

CookieMonster911: The story overall was an adventure that is appealing to any age. The way the characters develop adds a more human characteristic to the novel. The writing style itself is amazing because you can learn every character's thoughts and emotions. The awkward love triangle and jerk moments adds to the ...

chrystalwise78: I loved Stargate SG1 and all the characters from the show. I love that you brought them all together for this. Great story, I couldn't stop reading.

Jasmine Chow: As I read this story, I was reminded some what of Terry Pratchett, especially some descriptions of politics and economics. The sci-fic setting is quite intriguing. Writing style is quite lovely and grew on me slowly. I was also slightly reminded of Mark Twain, especially his book A Connecticut Ya...
