Prologue
The following is the opening to The Prescience, the second book of The Recitation for the children from Earth:
And so came the end of days for the people of God’s Earth. Rage filled the heart of this, occasionally, loving god once again. Once again It’s people did not pay heed. God grew weary of constant nagging. Some interpreted the signs. Some warned the masses. People of science calculated the rising temperatures of their seas. Astronomers kept watch on the heavens. Those among them fearful of fury and destruction promised by divination walked many roads tattered and torn begging the people to heed the voice of God. The populous laughed or disregarded the calls until they became no more than background noise, listening only to the distant voices reaching out to them via Twitter or Facebook, most of which were deleted.
And The Voice, creator of the Earth god, called to It’s descendant, questioning the child god, “Is this creation not your mess? Maybe you should think about it before doing anything rash again.”
And the God of Earth thought about it.
