Bonus Chapter 2

“Shit. Shit shit shit. What am I going to do? I’m not ready. Ugh.” Mia paced through her bedroom while muttering things under her breath. She was so lost in her thoughts she didn’t even see or hear Dave walk in.

“Tesoro?” he called out to her and she didn’t respond. “Mia?” she was still pacing through the room. He walked up to her. When she turned around to start another round of pacing she crashed onto Dave’s hard chest and lost her balance. Dave put his arms around her waist and placed a peck on her nose. “What’s wrong, beautiful?”

Mia stared into his eyes and didn’t know what to say. “Uhh when did you come home?”

“When you were pacing through the room. Now tell me what’s wrong.”

“Uhm” she nervously bit her lip. “I’m pregnant.”

He looked shocked for a second before his lips morphed into a wide smile.

“Really?” Mia nodded. He embraced her tightly. “You’re not happy?” he asked as he stared into her eyes.

“I don’t know.” She said looking away. “I just don’t know.” She let out a sigh. “I’m really scared.”

“Why?”

“What if I’m a bad mother? What if I do everything wrong? What if I do things during the pregnancy that isn’t good for the baby? What if I fail at taking care of it? What if he or she hates me? What if I let the baby fall? What if I turn out to be like my mom? What if..” Mia didn’t get to finish her rambling as Dave leaned in and placed his lips against hers. Slowly Mia melted into the kiss. She didn’t know for how long they were kissing but once she felt herself calm down she pulled back a little. Their foreheads still rested against each other and their eyes were still closed. She took a deep breath before opening her eyes. Dave was looking at her with so much love and adoration.

“How can you say all that in one breath?” they both laughed. “You are going to be a great mother. I know that and don’t argue with me.” they were silent for a moment.

“Stop worrying so much. Everything is going to turn out fine one way or the other. By creating so many scenarios in your mind you’re just stressing yourself out. And anyway you have me, we’ll go through this together. And I know that it will be all you mainly, but I will be with you every step of the way. Every time you need me I’ll be there holding your hand, even when you don’t need me I’ll be there. You’re a lovable person, an amazing and beautiful wife and it is no doubt that you’ll be a great mom. I love you.”

“I love you too” she finally whispered as a smile appeared on her lips. Only he had the power to calm her like that.

They stood there in the middle of their room embracing each other, mentally preparing for their journey a head.

---

Mia twisted and turned on the bed as she couldn’t fall asleep. Dave lifted his head lightly and opened his eyes for a bit.

“What’s wrong Tesoro?” he mumbled. Mia sat up in frustration.

“I’m craving chicken wings.” She said.

“Where am I going to get chicken wings in the middle of the night?”

She huffed and lied back down. Dave let out a sigh, stood up and walked out of the room. Mia heard him turning the lights on and cluttering of utensils. She walked out of the room and into the kitchen. Dave was in his shorts and an apron as he was preparing the chicken so he could put it in the oil.

“Am I dreaming?” she said while hugging hum from behind.

“I assure you your not.” He said turning around. He placed a peck on her nose and let her sit on the kitchen counter so he could continue what he was doing as she continued staring shamelessly at her husband.

He handed her a plate with chicken wings once they were cooled off.

“Mmhhmmm this is so good.” She took a bite and let out a moan. She did that with each bite.

“Smettere di fare così (Stop doing that).” Dave said in a low voice as he eyed his wife. But she didn’t.

He picked her up bridal style and started walking to their room. He put her on the bed and started kissing her senseless.

“I wanted to eat more...” she pouted.

“You can eat later.” He answered as he took of the shirt she was wearing. He enjoyed making love to her and she did too. They lay in each other’s arms trying to control their breathing.

“We have been married for five years already and still you make me feel like we’re just falling in love.” Mia mumbled

“Of course. the longer we are together the more the love grows and I will make sure that it keeps growing.” Dave said and Mia snuggled closer to his chest.

“Ti amo” Dave whispered as he placed a kiss on top of her head as she fell asleep. Dave placed his hand on her small bump and it warmed him up from inside. He felt complete in that moment with his family.

--

Mia laid in the hospital bed as the nurse brought her newly born babies to them. They handed Mia their baby boy and Dave their baby girl.

They were surprised when their doctor told them they were having twins during the checkups and it doubled their happiness.

“For the last time I am not letting you name our daughter Crystal.” Mia said as she caressed her son’s cheek.

“Why? It has so much importance to our love story.” Mia rolled her eyes at his answer.

“Yeah right. It was also the name of your last assistant who kept throwing herself at you. I’m not naming my baby that and it’s final.”

“Are you getting jealous?” he smirked. She was going to say something when the door opened and their whole family walked in. Dave’s parents and siblings, also Enzo, Camille, Natasha and Christian who happened to be in Italy since a week. They all congratulated the new parents.

“So what are these angels’ names?” Ainsley (Dave’s sister) asked.

“Neil Salvatore” Mia answered smiling. All the eyes in the room were on both babies.

“And this is Dianora Salvatore” Dave said.

Neil started crying and Dianora joined not long after. They finally calmed down. The family left after a while leaving Dave and Mia with their babies.

“Grazie per avermi dato la famiglia che ho sempre voluto. Ti amo. (Thank you for giving me the family I always wanted. I love you.)” Dave whispered in Mia’s ear while he stared at his family with a gaze full of adoration.

“Grazie per essere venuto nella mia vita, amore mio. (Thank you for coming in my life, my love)” Mia responded placing a kiss on Dave’s lips.

--

“Dreamy can you see why the kids are crying? I’m heating their milk.” Mia shouted from the kitchen. After the milk warmed up she took it to the kids’ room and saw Dave looking at the kids. “What are you doing?”

“Neil’s diaper needs to be changed.” He answered.

“Then what are you waiting for? Do it.”

“No it’s your turn.” He answered.

“No no no no. Amore you don’t get to pull that card. ”

“But…”

“I quote ‘we’ll go through this together. I will be with you every step of the way’. So you better start changing those diapers.”

Dave let out a huff and picked up Neil to change while Mia took Dianora to feed her. He finished it and cleaned his baby boy up. Mia handed Dave the milk bottle and he started feeding Neil.

It was night time when Mia and Dave were startled awake by the crying sounds of the babies. Mia was about to get up when Dave pulled her back.

“You sleep. I’ll check on them.” He said placing a kiss on her forehead. He knew how tired she was. With trying to get accustomed to all of the things these past month neither of them got much rest.

When Mia woke up the next morning she noticed the bed was empty. Yawning she walked out of her room. She walked into the baby’s room but it was also empty. When she went downstairs she saw Dave sleeping on the mattress they placed on the living room floor for the kids. And both babies were sleeping on his chest peacefully, his arms were secured around both tightly. Mia smiled and walked over to them.

“Morning.” She said as she placed a kiss on his forehead. He opened his eyes slowly and smiled.

“This is a sight I love to wake up to every day.” They both smile glancing down at their babies.
