When I woke I was no longer in the forest, nor was I in the brightly lit room. I was lying on an old bed that creaked when I moved a bit. Above me a lone lightbulb swayed slowly. Beyond the lightbulb, I saw the ceiling of a warehouse. I could fell the bed pull down slightly, telling me that someone was either laying on the bed or laying their head on the bed.
I instinctively darted up into a sitting position. I swung my head around and looked at the bed. Alpha Eli's head lay on the edge of my bed. I layed back again.
Then I notice something, everything was too.... blurry. I blinked hard and fast, nothing. I tried to sit up, but it was as of an invisible force held me down. Eventually everything became to blurry to see and I blacked out.
I was only half-concious, but I swore I felt Zenya sit up. I slowly forced myself awake. To my disappointment, I found that Zenya was still in her coma. I sighed a closed my eyes again. Sleep did not come though. I groaned and sat up. Zenya was laying on the bed.
Something seemed different though. Zenya seemed... paler. Her hair also lay partially under her, unlike before I went to sleep. Before it had layed across the pillow, now it layed under her back. I stood up and started pacing the room. Suddenly I heard Zenya gasp. I rushed over to her, but after she didn't show any other response, I went back to pacing.
I had drifted back into my slumber. I looked around I was engulfed in shadows again.
"No, no, no." I whispered spinning in a circle. I tripped on a root and fell. I cussed and got up. I rubbed my hands together and got the dead grass off of me.
I looked around, but unlike last time, there was no light, just shadows. I stumbled blindly around. I ran into something, I guessed it was a tree. I shook my head and walked on. Suddenly I was jerked backwards. I screamed, afraid I was not alone.
My hair was pulled back. I blindly swung my fist through the air. It only turned out to be a tree branch that my hair had snagged on. I pulled my hair free and continued on. My heart beat rapidly as I walked slowly through the darkness.
I stumbled and fell. I started to get up, but suddenly I was burning. It felt like lava was being poured over my skin. But my insides felt like they had frostbite. I fell back to the ground, screaming.
The pain only got more intense. I thrashed on the ground, scratching myself in multiple spots against the rough ground. It was like fire and ice fighting each other inside of my body.
I ran over to the bed when I heard her scream. Her eyes were still closed but she was screaming in pain. Her face was contorted in pain. Her screams pierced the air like a knife. My hands fluttered over her, trying to figure out what was happening.
I called out for Rae. When she arrived, she immediately started working on Zenya.
When I got back, Zenya was gone. I dropped the clothes I had been holding and ran back outside. I ran around the junkyard. She was nowhere to be found. I frantically began running around the area.
Zenya was nowhere to be found. There wasn't even a trace of her. I didn't sleep at all that night, even though I was exhausted and had gone back to the camper. I stayed up all night, pacing in the camper. Finally I gave up and went outside.
The air was crisp and chilly. I took a deep breath before I began to search for Zenya. No matter where I looked, I couldn't find her. Eventually I got sleepy and sat down in an alley. I fell asleep in the alley.
When I woke I searched again. My efforts were useless though. She was nowhere to be found. Halfway through the day, I sighed and sank to the ground in despair.
I put my head against the brick wall and sighed. Then I remembered the one place I hadn't looked. The warehouse that the gang was in.
I scrambled to my feet and was off. I arrived at the warehouse and climbed up to the roof. I looked through the hole in the roof. The gang was there, as usual. There was something missing though... the leader was not there.
I climbed down the wall and ran to the door. Fearing what I was about to do, I banged my fist on the doors to the warehouse. I heard all noise stop inside and my heart stopped.
Then the door opened, a young boy stood at the door.
"What do you want?" He said in a hoarse voice.
"I was wondering if y'all had seen my friend, Zenya?" I asked after taking a deep breath and gathering my courage.
"Stay here." He said, frowning. He closed the door and I heard his footsteps retreat from the door.
A few moments later the door opened again. The young boy pulled me in and steered me through a crowd of people. "Uh... where are we going?" I asked as he swerved between boxes and crates.
"To see your friend." He replied without emotion. I just walked behind him. Eventually we came to a door. The boy knocked and then opened the door.
Zenya was lying on a bed and there was a man, about her age, pacing the room. I rushed to Zenya.
I recognized the man as the leader of the gang. "What did you do to her?" I screamed at him.
"I didn't do anything." He moaned. "I would never hurt her."
"Why do I find that hard to believe?" I said sarcastically.
He just groaned and sat down in a Chair beside Zenya. He had circles under his eyes and he looked like a dead man walking.
"You... look crappy." I stated, not scared of him in his present condition.
"Thanks." He said sarcastically in a whisper. I was about to say something else when, suddenly, Zenya gasped.
I swung my head to look at her. She was still for a moment. Then her eyes flashed open. But instead of her normal blue eyes, her eyes were red, blood red. Her eyes had a wild, feral look. It scared me to death.
