Chapter 8: the werewolf pack

You are now part of their pack, you sure that was a good choice? SadieDash asked me.

I don't think I had a choice. I replied to her.

True, but what about Shaneel? SadieDash asked.

Why do you care, you tried to eat her. I pointed out.

Hey! I needed food, I had been stuck inside your head my whole life, I needed food. SadieDash replied. I felt her annoyance at being kept in my head.

Alright, just don't ever try to eat her. Also, why wouldn't it be a good idea to join the pack? I asked.

Well, I just didn't know if you wanted to be in a werewolf pack. Especially not this one, it is more like an annoying sibling rather than a family. She told he.

What do you mean? I asked.

Exactly what I said. SadieDash replied. They don't exactly have a family type of personality, they are more like an annoying sibling.

So I shouldn't have gotten into the pack? I asked, creacing my brow in confusion.

Hey, I don't really know, or care! We have about five minutes, ask what you want to ask. SadieDash said quickly.

How did the alpha appear in my dream? I asked.

You are connected to the rest of the pack through a mental link, so he entered your dream through that link. Anything else? SadieDash replied quickly.

Why are you larger than him? I quickly asked.

I can't tell you that. She told me.

Why? I asked.

I just can't, you now have two minutes. Anything else? SadieDash replied.

What will happen to Shaneel, now that I am in a pack? Can I still stay with her and protect her? I asked, slurring my words in my haste to say them.

You will not be able to stay with her, unless she is a werewolf also. She will most likely be killed within a week without you there to protect her. Now, it is time for you to wake up. I will talk to you later. SadieDash said.

Before I could say anything else, my dream vanished.

I woke up, I was no longer wrapped in the blanket. I was breaking out in a sweat. I looked down and saw I had had the clothes on that I had on in my dream, sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I gasped and quickly stood up.

At the sudden move, I expected to feel a lot of pain come from my calf, but I didn't. I looked at my leg. I plopped down on the couch and quickly rolled up my sweatpants.

I jerked off the bandage. I gasped. My bullet wound was gone! There wasn't even a scar, it was just... gone!

I gasped again and blinked hard. When I opened my eyes, my leg was still just as it was before. I took a deep breath.

Uhh, what the heck happened? I thought to myself, looking at the clear skin of my calf.

That, is part of becoming a werewolf. Look at your arm, were you've had that scar since you were seven. SadieDash said, hearing my question.

I forgot you could hear my every thought. I told her, pulling up the sleeve of my sweatshirt. Just as SadieDash had said, my skin was perfectly smooth and clear in the place I've had a scar for... well, as long as I can remember.

See, told ya. By becoming a werewolf, you get all your human scars taken away. SadieDash explained to me. I looked at the scars I have had for years, they were all gone! All of them, even the scar on my knee from the time I scraped it to the bone, they were all gone!

How is that possible? I asked, I was in awe that even my worst scars could be taken away by one change to me.

I dunno, it just happens when you turn into a werewolf. I felt SadieDash shrug.

Do you know the way to the werewolf pack? I asked.

Of course I do, I'm SadieDash. She said in a way that made me laugh.

Can you take me there? I asked.

Sure, why though? She asked.

You'll find out when we get there, now how do we merge into one? I asked sending a picture of me as a wolf.

Feel through your mind until you find me, then merge your mind with mine. SadieDash instructed. I followed her instruction and was able to turn into a wolf by merging with her. Good, most don't get it on the first try. She sounded impressed.

Umm... thanks, I think. I replied I left my camper and let SadieDash guide me to the werewolf pack. After about thirty minutes, we arrived at the warehouse that the werewolf pack was located.

I pawed the door, I heard sounds coming from inside. I heard a lock being undone, then the door eased open and a head popped out. It was Luna.

Luna! Me and SadieDash said.

"Who are you?" She asked, looking at my wolf. My wolf was about two heads taller than her.

I don't think I told you my name, but I'm Zenya, the one you changed into a werewolf about a day, two days ago maybe. I told her.

"Oh, the one that saved SandMoon." Luna said smiling at me, I guessed SandMoon was the wolf that I brought here.

I guess so, I didn't know his name. I told her.

She nodded and opened the door. I walked in. A lot of heads turned to look at me, human and wolf alike. They all stared at me with unblinking eyes.

Umm... hi. I said. They just stared at me. Luna walked up beside me.

"We were in a pack meeting, then you came in." She told me. The werewolves turned back to the middle of the circle, where the alpha stood.

Whoops. I said.

"It's fine, happens a lot with new pack members." She told me, shrugging.

Sorry. I said. I was wondering about how I spoke to the alpha with my mind, before I was a werewolf?

"I really don't know the answer to that. Ask the alpha, if anyone knows, he does." Luna told me. "But wait until the pack meeting is over."

Okay, umm... how do I change back to a human? I asked her.

She chuckled and told me to ask my wolf. I heard my wolf laugh.

Hey! Don't laugh! This is all new to me! I told my wolf.

Well, push your mind away from mine, do the opposite of what you did earlier. She told me. Within a minute, I was human again. This time, I had clothes. I breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to Luna.

"When do I ask the alpha?" I asked her.

"Later, I will get you when you can talk to him." Luna told me. She sat down and looked at the alpha. He was in human form.

"Okay." I whispered to Luna, I couldn't look away from the alpha.

He was quite handsome, he had black hair that fell into his eyes. He kept brushing away locks of hair from his eyes. He looked quite young to be an alpha, Luna looked older. He looked about my age, maybe a year older.

"What do you call your alpha?" I asked Luna, leaning in.

"Alpha Eli." She told me.

I creased my brow, that name sounded so familiar. I didn't know where I had heard it, or why it was familiar, but it was. I was lost in thought, why did it sound so familiar?
