Matthew Chapter 12

At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the cornand his disciples were an hungredand began to pluck the earsof corn and to eat.

But when the Pharisees saw itthey said unto himBeholdthydisciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbathday.

But he said unto themHave ye not read what David didwhenhe was an hungredand they that were with him

How he entered into the house of Godand did eat theshewbreadwhich was not lawful for him to eatneither forthem which were with himbut only for the priests

Or have ye not read in the lawhow that on the sabbath daysthe priests in the temple profane the sabbathand areblameless

But I say unto youThat in this place is one greater than thetemple.

But if ye had known what this meanethI will have mercyandnot sacrificeye would not have condemned the guiltless.

For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

And when he was departed thencehe went into their synagogue

Andbeholdthere was a man which had his hand withered. Andthey asked himsayingIs it lawful to heal on the sabbathdaysthat they might accuse him.

And he said unto themWhat man shall there be among youthatshall have one sheepand if it fall into a pit on the sabbathdaywill he not lay hold on itand lift it out

How much then is a man better than a sheepWherefore it islawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Then saith he to the manStretch forth thine hand. And hestretched it forthand it was restored wholelike as theother.

Then the Pharisees went outand held a council against himhow they might destroy him.

But when Jesus knew ithe withdrew himself from thenceandgreat multitudes followed himand he healed them all

And charged them that they should not make him known

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias theprophetsaying

Behold my servantwhom I have chosenmy belovedin whom mysoul is well pleasedI will put my spirit upon himand heshall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

He shall not strivenor cryneither shall any man hear hisvoice in the streets.

A bruised reed shall he not breakand smoking flax shall henot quenchtill he send forth judgment unto victory.

And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devilblind and dumband he healed himinsomuch that the blind and dumbboth spake and saw.

And all the people were amazedand saidIs not this the sonof David

But when the Pharisees heard itthey saidThis fellow dothnot cast out devilsbut by Beelzebub the prince of thedevils.

And Jesus knew their thoughtsand said unto themEverykingdom divided against itself is brought to desolationandevery city or house divided against itself shall not stand

And if Satan cast out Satanhe is divided against himselfhow shall then his kingdom stand

And if I by Beelzebub cast out devilsby whom do yourchildren cast them outtherefore they shall be your judges.

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of Godthen thekingdom of God is come unto you.

Or else how can one enter into a strong man s houseand spoilhis goodsexcept he first bind the strong manand then hewill spoil his house.

He that is not with me is against meand he that gatherethnot with me scattereth abroad.

Wherefore I say unto youAll manner of sin and blasphemyshall be forgiven unto menbut the blasphemy against the HolyGhost shall not be forgiven unto men.

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of manit shallbe forgiven himbut whosoever speaketh against the HolyGhostit shall not be forgiven himneither in this world neither in the world to come.

Either make the tree goodand his fruit goodor else makethe tree corruptand his fruit corruptfor the tree is knownby his fruit.

O generation of vipershow can yebeing evilspeak goodthingsfor out of the abundance of the heart the mouthspeaketh.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringethforth good thingsand an evil man out of the evil treasurebringeth forth evil things.

But I say unto youThat every idle word that men shall speakthey shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justifiedand by thy wordsthou shalt be condemned.

Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answeredsayingMasterwe would see a sign from thee.

But he answered and said unto themAn evil and adulterousgeneration seeketh after a signand there shall no sign begiven to itbut the sign of the prophet Jonas

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale sbellyso shall the Son of man be three days and three nightsin the heart of the earth.

The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with thisgenerationand shall condemn itbecause they repented at thepreaching of Jonasandbeholda greater than Jonas is here.

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with thisgenerationand shall condemn itfor she came from theuttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon andbeholda greater than Solomon is here.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a manhe walkeththrough dry placesseeking restand findeth none.

Then he saithI will return into my house from whence I cameoutand when he is comehe findeth it emptysweptandgarnished.

Then goeth heand taketh with himself seven other spiritsmore wicked than himselfand they enter in and dwell there and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Evenso shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

While he yet talked to the peoplebeholdhis mother and hisbrethren stood withoutdesiring to speak with him.

Then one said unto himBeholdthy mother and thy brethrenstand withoutdesiring to speak with thee.

But he answered and said unto him that told himWho is mymotherand who are my brethren

And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciplesandsaidBehold my mother and my brethren

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is inheaventhe same is my brotherand sisterand mother.
