Corinthians Chapter 7

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto meIt is goodfor a man not to touch a woman.

Neverthelessto avoid fornicationlet every man have his ownwifeand let every woman have her own husband.

Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolenceandlikewise also the wife unto the husband.

The wife hath not power of her own bodybut the husbandandlikewise also the husband hath not power of his own bodybutthe wife.

Defraud ye not one the otherexcept it be with consent for atimethat ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayerandcome together againthat Satan tempt you not for yourincontinency.

But I speak this by permissionand not of commandment.

For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every manhath his proper gift of Godone after this mannerandanother after that.

I say therefore to the unmarried and widowsIt is good forthem if they abide even as I.

But if they cannot containlet them marryfor it is betterto marry than to burn.

And unto the married I commandyet not Ibut the LordLetnot the wife depart from her husband

But and if she departlet her remain unmarried or bereconciled to her husbandand let not the husband put awayhis wife.

But to the rest speak Inot the LordIf any brother hath awife that believeth notand she be pleased to dwell with himlet him not put her away.

And the woman which hath an husband that believeth notand ifhe be pleased to dwell with herlet her not leave him.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wifeand theunbelieving wife is sanctified by the husbandelse were yourchildren uncleanbut now are they holy.

But if the unbelieving departlet him depart. A brother or asister is not under bondage in such casesbut God hath calledus to peace.

For what knowest thouO wifewhether thou shalt save thyhusbandor how knowest thouO manwhether thou shalt savethy wife

But as God hath distributed to every manas the Lord hathcalled every oneso let him walk. And so ordain I in allchurches.

Is any man called being circumcisedlet him not becomeuncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcisionlet him not becircumcised.

Circumcision is nothingand uncircumcision is nothingbutthe keeping of the commandments of God.

Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

Art thou called being a servantcare not for itbut if thoumayest be made freeuse it rather.

For he that is called in the Lordbeing a servantis theLord s freemanlikewise also he that is calledbeing free is Christ s servant.

Ye are bought with a pricebe not ye the servants of men.

Brethrenlet every manwherein he is calledtherein abidewith God.

Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the LordyetI give my judgmentas one that hath obtained mercy of theLord to be faithful.

I suppose therefore that this is good for the presentdistressI saythat it is good for a man so to be.

Art thou bound unto a wifeseek not to be loosed. Art thouloosed from a wifeseek not a wife.

But and if thou marrythou hast not sinnedand if a virginmarryshe hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall havetrouble in the fleshbut I spare you.

But this I saybrethrenthe time is shortit remaineth that both they that have wives be as though they had none

And they that weepas though they wept notand they thatrejoiceas though they rejoiced notand they that buyasthough they possessed not

And they that use this worldas not abusing itfor thefashion of this world passeth away.

But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarriedcareth for the things that belong to the Lordhow he mayplease the Lord

But he that is married careth for the things that are of theworldhow he may please his wife.

There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. Theunmarried woman careth for the things of the Lordthat shemay be holy both in body and in spiritbut she that ismarried careth for the things of the worldhow she may pleaseher husband.

And this I speak for your own profitnot that I may cast asnare upon youbut for that which is comelyand that ye mayattend upon the Lord without distraction.

But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely towardhis virginif she pass the flower of her ageand need sorequirelet him do what he willhe sinneth notlet themmarry.

Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his hearthaving nonecessitybut hath power over his own willand hath sodecreed in his heart that he will keep his virgindoeth well.

So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth wellbut he thatgiveth her not in marriage doeth better.

The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth but if her husband be deadshe is at liberty to be married towhom she willonly in the Lord.

But she is happier if she so abideafter my judgmentand Ithink also that I have the Spirit of God.
