Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the eldersfor they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

But he answered and said unto themWhy do ye also transgressthe commandment of God by your tradition

For God commandedsayingHonour thy father and motherandHe that curseth father or motherlet him die the death.

But ye sayWhosoever shall say to his father or his motherIt is a giftby whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me

And honour not his father or his motherhe shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect byyour tradition.

Ye hypocriteswell did Esaias prophesy of yousaying

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouthandhonoureth me with their lipsbut their heart is far from me.

But in vain they do worship meteaching for doctrines thecommandments of men.

And he called the multitudeand said unto themHearandunderstand

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a manbut thatwhich cometh out of the mouththis defileth a man.

Let them alonethey be blind leaders of the blind. And if theblind lead the blindboth shall fall into the ditch.

Then answered Peter and said unto himDeclare unto us thisparable.

And Jesus saidAre ye also yet without understanding

Do not ye yet understandthat whatsoever entereth in at themouth goeth into the bellyand is cast out into the draught

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forthfrom the heartand they defile the man.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughtsmurdersadulteriesfornicationstheftsfalse witnessblasphemies

These are the things which defile a manbut to eat withunwashen hands defileth not a man.
