Corinthians Chapter 8

Moreoverbrethrenwe do you to wit of the grace of Godbestowed on the churches of Macedonia

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of theirjoy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of theirliberality.

For to their powerI bear recordyeaand beyond their powerthey were willing of themselves

Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to thesaints.

And this they didnot as we hopedbut first gave their ownselves to the Lordand unto us by the will of God.

Insomuch that we desired Titusthat as he had begunso hewould also finish in you the same grace also.

Thereforeas ye abound in every thingin faithandutteranceand knowledgeand in all diligenceand in yourlove to ussee that ye abound in this grace also.

I speak not by commandmentbut by occasion of the forwardnessof othersand to prove the sincerity of your love.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christthatthoughhe was richyet for your sakes he became poorthat yethrough his poverty might be rich.

And herein I give my advicefor this is expedient for youwho have begun beforenot only to dobut also to be forwarda year ago.

Now therefore perform the doing of itthat as there was areadiness to willso there may be a performance also out ofthat which ye have.

For if there be first a willing mindit is accepted accordingto that a man hathand not according to that he hath not.

For I mean not that other men be easedand ye burdened

But by an equalitythat now at this time your abundance maybe a supply for their wantthat their abundance also may be asupply for your wantthat there may be equality

As it is writtenHe that had gathered much had nothing overand he that had gathered little had no lack.

But thanks be to Godwhich put the same earnest care into theheart of Titus for you.

For indeed he accepted the exhortationbut being moreforwardof his own accord he went unto you.

And we have sent with him the brotherwhose praise is in thegospel throughout all the churches

And not that onlybut who was also chosen of the churches totravel with us with this gracewhich is administered by us tothe glory of the same Lordand declaration of your readymind

Avoiding thisthat no man should blame us in this abundancewhich is administered by us

Providing for honest thingsnot only in the sight of theLordbut also in the sight of men.

And we have sent with them our brotherwhom we haveoftentimes proved diligent in many thingsbut now much morediligentupon the great confidence which I have in you.

Whether any do enquire of Titushe is my partner andfellowhelper concerning youor our brethren be enquired of they are the messengers of the churchesand the glory ofChrist.

Wherefore shew ye to themand before the churchesthe proofof your loveand of our boasting on your behalf.
