Ephesians Chapter 4
I thereforethe prisoner of the Lordbeseech you that yewalk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called
With all lowliness and meeknesswith longsufferingforbearing one another in love
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond ofpeace.
There is one bodyand one Spiriteven as ye are called inone hope of your calling
One Lordone faithone baptism
One God and Father of allwho is above alland through alland in you all.
But unto every one of us is given grace according to themeasure of the gift of Christ.
Wherefore he saithWhen he ascended up on highhe ledcaptivity captiveand gave gifts unto men.
Now that he ascendedwhat is it but that he also descendedfirst into the lower parts of the earth
He that descended is the same also that ascended up far aboveall heavensthat he might fill all things.
And he gave someapostlesand someprophetsand someevangelistsand somepastors and teachers
For the perfecting of the saintsfor the work of theministryfor the edifying of the body of Christ
Till we all come in the unity of the faithand of theknowledge of the Son of Godunto a perfect manunto themeasure of the stature of the fulness of Christ
That we henceforth be no more childrentossed to and froandcarried about with every wind of doctrineby the sleight ofmenand cunning craftinesswhereby they lie in wait todeceive
But speaking the truth in lovemay grow up into him in allthingswhich is the headeven Christ
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compactedby that which every joint suppliethaccording to theeffectual working in the measure of every partmakethincrease of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
This I say thereforeand testify in the Lordthat yehenceforth walk not as other Gentiles walkin the vanity oftheir mind
Having the understanding darkenedbeing alienated from thelife of God through the ignorance that is in thembecause ofthe blindness of their heart
Who being past feeling have given themselves over untolasciviousnessto work all uncleanness with greediness.
But ye have not so learned Christ
If so be that ye have heard himand have been taught by himas the truth is in Jesus
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the oldmanwhich is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind
And that ye put on the new manwhich after God is created inrighteousness and true holiness.
Wherefore putting away lyingspeak every man truth with hisneighbourfor we are members one of another.
Be ye angryand sin notlet not the sun go down upon yourwrath
Neither give place to the devil.
Let him that stole steal no morebut rather let him labourworking with his hands the thing which is goodthat he mayhave to give to him that needeth.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouthbutthat which is good to the use of edifyingthat it mayminister grace unto the hearers.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of Godwhereby ye are sealedunto the day of redemption.
Let all bitternessand wrathand angerand clamourandevil speakingbe put away from youwith all malice
And be ye kind one to anothertenderheartedforgiving oneanothereven as God for Christ s sake hath forgiven you.
