Ephesians Chapter 5

Be ye therefore followers of Godas dear children

And walk in loveas Christ also hath loved usand hath givenhimself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for asweetsmelling savour.

But fornicationand all uncleannessor covetousnesslet itnot be once named among youas becometh saints

Neither filthinessnor foolish talkingnor jestingwhichare not convenientbut rather giving of thanks.

For this ye knowthat no whoremongernor unclean personnorcovetous manwho is an idolaterhath any inheritance in thekingdom of Christ and of God.

Let no man deceive you with vain wordsfor because of thesethings cometh the wrath of God upon the children ofdisobedience.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

For ye were sometimes darknessbut now are ye light in theLordwalk as children of light

For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness andrighteousness and truth

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darknessbut rather reprove them.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are doneof them in secret.

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by thelightfor whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Wherefore he saithAwake thou that sleepestand arise fromthe deadand Christ shall give thee light.

See then that ye walk circumspectlynot as foolsbut aswise

Redeeming the timebecause the days are evil.

Wherefore be ye not unwisebut understanding what the will ofthe Lord is.

And be not drunk with winewherein is excessbut be filledwith the Spirit

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritualsongssinging and making melody in your heart to the Lord

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father inthe name of our Lord Jesus Christ

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Wivessubmit yourselves unto your own husbandsas unto theLord.

For the husband is the head of the wifeeven as Christ is thehead of the churchand he is the saviour of the body.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christso let thewives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Husbandslove your wiveseven as Christ also loved thechurchand gave himself for it

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing ofwater by the word

That he might present it to himself a glorious churchnothaving spotor wrinkleor any such thingbut that it shouldbe holy and without blemish.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He thatloveth his wife loveth himself.

For no man ever yet hated his own fleshbut nourisheth andcherisheth iteven as the Lord the church

For we are members of his bodyof his fleshand of hisbones.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and motherandshall be joined unto his wifeand they two shall be oneflesh.

This is a great mysterybut I speak concerning Christ and thechurch.

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love hiswife even as himselfand the wife see that she reverence herhusband.
