Colossians Chapter 1

1 Paulan apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of GodandTimotheus our brother

2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are atColosseGrace be unto youand peacefrom God our Father andthe Lord Jesus Christ.

3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christpraying always for you

4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesusand of the lovewhich ye have to all the saints

5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heavenwhereof yeheard before in the word of the truth of the gospel

6 Which is come unto youas it is in all the worldandbringeth forth fruitas it doth also in yousince the day yeheard of itand knew the grace of God in truth

7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservantwho isfor you a faithful minister of Christ

8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

9 For this cause we alsosince the day we heard itdo notcease to pray for youand to desire that ye might be filledwith the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritualunderstanding

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasingbeingfruitful in every good workand increasing in the knowledgeof God

11 Strengthened with all mightaccording to his glorious powerunto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness

12 Giving thanks unto the Fatherwhich hath made us meet to bepartakers of the inheritance of the saints in light

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darknessand hathtranslated us into the kingdom of his dear Son

14 In whom we have redemption through his bloodeven theforgiveness of sins

15 Who is the image of the invisible Godthe firstborn of everycreature

16 For by him were all things createdthat are in heavenandthat are in earthvisible and invisiblewhether they bethronesor dominionsor principalitiesor powersallthings were created by himand for him

17 And he is before all thingsand by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the bodythe churchwho is thebeginningthe firstborn from the deadthat in all things hemight have the preeminence.

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulnessdwell

20 Andhaving made peace through the blood of his crossby himto reconcile all things unto himselfby himI saywhetherthey be things in earthor things in heaven.

21 And youthat were sometime alienated and enemies in your mindby wicked worksyet now hath he reconciled

22 In the body of his flesh through deathto present you holyand unblameable and unreproveable in his sight

23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settledand be notmoved away from the hope of the gospelwhich ye have heard and which was preached to every creature which is underheavenwhereof I Paul am made a minister

24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for youand fill up thatwhich is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh forhis body s sakewhich is the church

25 Whereof I am made a ministeraccording to the dispensation ofGod which is given to me for youto fulfil the word of God

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and fromgenerationsbut now is made manifest to his saints

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the gloryof this mystery among the Gentileswhich is Christ in youthe hope of glory

28 Whom we preachwarning every manand teaching every man inall wisdomthat we may present every man perfect in ChristJesus

29 Whereunto I also labourstriving according to his working which worketh in me mightily.
