Wherefore when we could no longer forbearwe thought it goodto be left at Athens alone

And sent Timotheusour brotherand minister of Godand ourfellowlabourer in the gospel of Christto establish youandto comfort you concerning your faith

That no man should be moved by these afflictionsforyourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

For verilywhen we were with youwe told you before that weshould suffer tribulationeven as it came to passand yeknow.

For this causewhen I could no longer forbearI sent to knowyour faithlest by some means the tempter have tempted youand our labour be in vain.

But now when Timotheus came from you unto usand brought usgood tidings of your faith and charityand that ye have goodremembrance of us alwaysdesiring greatly to see usas wealso to see you

Thereforebrethrenwe were comforted over you in all ouraffliction and distress by your faith

For now we liveif ye stand fast in the Lord.

For what thanks can we render to God again for youfor allthe joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God

Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your faceand might perfect that which is lacking in your faith

Now God himself and our Fatherand our Lord Jesus Christdirect our way unto you.

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love onetoward anotherand toward all meneven as we do toward you
