Thessalonians Chapter 2
1 Now we beseech youbrethrenby the coming of our Lord JesusChristand by our gathering together unto him
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mindor be troubledneither byspiritnor by wordnor by letter as from usas that the dayof Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any meansfor that day shall notcomeexcept there come a falling away firstand that man ofsin be revealedthe son of perdition
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is calledGodor that is worshippedso that he as God sitteth in thetemple of Godshewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye notthatwhen I was yet with youI told youthese things
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed inhis time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already workonly he who nowletteth will letuntil he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealedwhom the Lord shallconsume with the spirit of his mouthand shall destroy withthe brightness of his coming
9 Even himwhose coming is after the working of Satan with allpower and signs and lying wonders
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them thatperishbecause they received not the love of the truththatthey might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusionthatthey should believe a lie
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truthbuthad pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for youbrethrenbeloved of the Lordbecause God hath from the beginningchosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spiritand belief of the truth
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospelto the obtaining of theglory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Thereforebrethrenstand fastand hold the traditions whichye have been taughtwhether by wordor our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himselfand Godeven our Father which hath loved usand hath given us everlasting consolationand good hope through grace
17 Comfort your heartsand stablish you in every good word andwork.
