Timothy Chapter 6

1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their ownmasters worthy of all honourthat the name of God and hisdoctrine be not blasphemed.

2 And they that have believing masterslet them not despisethembecause they are brethrenbut rather do them service because they are faithful and belovedpartakers of thebenefit. These things teach and exhort.

3 If any man teach otherwiseand consent not to wholesomewordseven the words of our Lord Jesus Christand to thedoctrine which is according to godliness

4 He is proudknowing nothingbut doting about questions andstrifes of wordswhereof cometh envystriferailingsevilsurmisings

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt mindsand destitute ofthe truthsupposing that gain is godlinessfrom suchwithdraw thyself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this worldand it is certain wecan carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snareand into many foolish and hurtful lustswhich drown men indestruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evilwhich whilesome coveted afterthey have erred from the faithandpierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thouO man of Godflee these thingsand follow afterrighteousnessgodlinessfaithlovepatiencemeekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faithlay hold on eternal lifewhereunto thou art also calledand hast professed a goodprofession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of Godwho quickeneth allthingsand before Christ Jesuswho before Pontius Pilatewitnessed a good confession

14 That thou keep this commandment without spotunrebukableuntil the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ

15 Which in his times he shall shewwho is the blessed and onlyPotentatethe King of kingsand Lord of lords

16 Who only hath immortalitydwelling in the light which no mancan approach untowhom no man hath seennor can seeto whombe honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this worldthat they be nothighmindednor trust in uncertain richesbut in the livingGodwho giveth us richly all things to enjoy

18 That they do goodthat they be rich in good worksready todistributewilling to communicate

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation againstthe time to comethat they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothykeep that which is committed to thy trustavoidingprofane and vain babblingsand oppositions of science falselyso called

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Gracebe with thee. Amen.
