Timothy Chapter 1
Paulan apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of Godaccordingto the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus
To Timothymy dearly beloved sonGracemercyand peacefrom God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
I thank Godwhom I serve from my forefathers with pureconsciencethat without ceasing I have remembrance of thee inmy prayers night and day
Greatly desiring to see theebeing mindful of thy tearsthatI may be filled with joy
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is intheewhich dwelt first in thy grandmother Loisand thymother Euniceand I am persuaded that in thee also.
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the giftof Godwhich is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fearbut of powerand of loveand of a sound mind.
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord nor of me his prisonerbut be thou partaker of theafflictions of the gospel according to the power of God
Who hath saved usand called us with an holy callingnotaccording to our worksbut according to his own purpose andgracewhich was given us in Christ Jesus before the worldbegan
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour JesusChristwho hath abolished deathand hath brought life andimmortality to light through the gospel
Whereunto I am appointed a preacherand an apostleand ateacher of the Gentiles.
For the which cause I also suffer these thingsnevertheless Iam not ashamedfor I know whom I have believedand ampersuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committedunto him against that day.
Hold fast the form of sound wordswhich thou hast heard ofmein faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the HolyGhost which dwelleth in us.
This thou knowestthat all they which are in Asia be turnedaway from meof whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorusfor he oftrefreshed meand was not ashamed of my chain
Butwhen he was in Romehe sought me out very diligentlyand found me.
The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord inthat dayand in how many things he ministered unto me atEphesusthou knowest very well.
