Grace to youand peacefrom God our Father and the LordJesus Christ.

I thank my Godmaking mention of thee always in my prayers

Hearing of thy love and faithwhich thou hast toward the LordJesusand toward all saints

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual bythe acknowledging of every good thing which is in you inChrist Jesus.

For we have great joy and consolation in thy lovebecause thebowels of the saints are refreshed by theebrother.

Whereforethough I might be much bold in Christ to enjointhee that which is convenient

Yet for love s sake I rather beseech theebeing such an oneas Paul the agedand now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

I beseech thee for my son Onesimuswhom I have begotten in mybonds

Which in time past was to thee unprofitablebut nowprofitable to thee and to me

Whom I have sent againthou therefore receive himthat ismine own bowels

Whom I would have retained with methat in thy stead he mighthave ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel

But without thy mind would I do nothingthat thy benefitshould not be as it were of necessitybut willingly.

For perhaps he therefore departed for a seasonthat thoushouldest receive him for ever

Not now as a servantbut above a servanta brother beloved specially to mebut how much more unto theeboth in thefleshand in the Lord

If thou count me therefore a partnerreceive him as myself.

If he hath wronged theeor oweth thee oughtput that on mineaccount

I Paul have written it with mine own handI will repay it albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thineown self besides.

Yeabrotherlet me have joy of thee in the Lordrefresh mybowels in the Lord.

Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto theeknowingthat thou wilt also do more than I say.

But withal prepare me also a lodgingfor I trust that throughyour prayers I shall be given unto you.
