Hebrews Chapter 4
Let us therefore fearlesta promise being left us ofentering into his restany of you should seem to come shortof it.
For unto us was the gospel preachedas well as unto thembutthe word preached did not profit themnot being mixed withfaith in them that heard it.
For we which have believed do enter into restas he saidAsI have sworn in my wrathif they shall enter into my rest although the works were finished from the foundation of theworld.
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on thiswiseAnd God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
And in this place againIf they shall enter into my rest.
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter thereinand they to whom it was first preached entered not in becauseof unbelief
Againhe limiteth a certain daysaying in DavidTo dayafter so long a timeas it is saidTo day if ye will hearhis voiceharden not your hearts.
For if Jesus had given them restthen would he not afterwardhave spoken of another day.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his resthe also hath ceased fromhis own worksas God did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that restlest any manfall after the same example of unbelief.
For the word of God is quickand powerfuland sharper thanany twoedged swordpiercing even to the dividing asunder ofsoul and spiritand of the joints and marrowand is adiscerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in hissightbut all things are naked and opened unto the eyes ofhim with whom we have to do.
Seeing then that we have a great high priestthat is passedinto the heavensJesus the Son of Godlet us hold fast ourprofession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched withthe feeling of our infirmitiesbut was in all points temptedlike as we areyet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of gracethat wemay obtain mercyand find grace to help in time of need.
