James Chapter 3
My brethrenbe not many mastersknowing that we shallreceive the greater condemnation.
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not inwordthe same is a perfect manand able also to bridle thewhole body.
Beholdwe put bits in the horsesmouthsthat they may obeyusand we turn about their whole body.
Behold also the shipswhich though they be so greatand aredriven of fierce windsyet are they turned about with a verysmall helmwhithersoever the governor listeth.
Even so the tongue is a little memberand boasteth greatthings. Beholdhow great a matter a little fire kindleth
And the tongue is a firea world of iniquityso is thetongue among our membersthat it defileth the whole bodyandsetteth on fire the course of natureand it is set on fire ofhell.
For every kind of beastsand of birdsand of serpentsandof things in the seais tamedand hath been tamed ofmankind
But the tongue can no man tameit is an unruly evilfull ofdeadly poison.
Therewith bless we Godeven the Fatherand therewith cursewe menwhich are made after the similitude of God.
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. Mybrethrenthese things ought not so to be.
Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water andbitter
Can the fig treemy brethrenbear olive berrieseither avinefigsso can no fountain both yield salt water andfresh.
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among youlet himshew out of a good conversation his works with meekness ofwisdom.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your heartsglorynotand lie not against the truth.
This wisdom descendeth not from abovebut is earthlysensualdevilish.
For where envying and strife isthere is confusion and everyevil work.
But the wisdom that is from above is first purethenpeaceablegentleand easy to be intreatedfull of mercy andgood fruitswithout partialityand without hypocrisy.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them thatmake peace.
