Peter Chapter 2

But there were false prophets also among the peopleeven asthere shall be false teachers among youwho privily shallbring in damnable heresieseven denying the Lord that boughtthemand bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious waysby reason of whomthe way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words makemerchandise of youwhose judgment now of a long timelingereth notand their damnation slumbereth not.

For if God spared not the angels that sinnedbut cast themdown to helland delivered them into chains of darknesstobe reserved unto judgment

And spared not the old worldbut saved Noah the eighthpersona preacher of righteousnessbringing in the floodupon the world of the ungodly

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashescondemned them with an overthrowmaking them an ensample untothose that after should live ungodly

And delivered just Lotvexed with the filthy conversation ofthe wicked

For that righteous man dwelling among themin seeing andhearingvexed his righteous soul from day to day with theirunlawful deeds

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptationsand to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to bepunished

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust ofuncleannessand despise government. Presumptuous are theyselfwilledthey are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Whereas angelswhich are greater in power and mightbringnot railing accusation against them before the Lord.

But theseas natural brute beastsmade to be taken anddestroyedspeak evil of the things that they understand not and shall utterly perish in their own corruption

And shall receive the reward of unrighteousnessas they thatcount it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are andblemishessporting themselves with their own deceivings whilethey feast with you

Having eyes full of adulteryand that cannot cease from sinbeguiling unstable soulsan heart they have exercised withcovetous practicescursed children

Which have forsaken the right wayand are gone astrayfollowing the way of Balaam the son of Bosorwho loved thewages of unrighteousness

But was rebuked for his iniquitythe dumb ass speaking withman s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

These are wells without waterclouds that are carried with atempestto whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

For when they speak great swelling words of vanitytheyallure through the lusts of the fleshthrough muchwantonnessthose that were clean escaped from them who livein error.

While they promise them libertythey themselves are theservants of corruptionfor of whom a man is overcomeof thesame is he brought in bondage.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the worldthrough the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ they are again entangled thereinand overcomethe latter endis worse with them than the beginning.

For it had been better for them not to have known the way ofrighteousnessthanafter they have known itto turn fromthe holy commandment delivered unto them.

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverbThe dog is turned to his own vomit againand the sow that waswashed to her wallowing in the mire.
